Hi guys, I had seen Rose Red and I am currently seeing it again as Хэллоуин is around the corner. I am going to write a review about it and why I consider this as my only favourite Horror movie despite that I dislike Horror films.

The Story

While watching this movie, the film eerily reminds me of Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of холм, хилл House. On which the film took inspiration from, another story by Stephen King on which it took inspiration from is Carrie. Ironically, Annie Wheaton reminds me of Carrie and Eleanor 'Nell' Vance from the Haunting of холм, хилл House as they have telekinetic power.
Unlike the Haunting of холм, хилл House, the story is based on a true story about a Winchester house in Seattle, USA. Which is rumour to be haunted!

The Cast

I absolutely adored the cast, especially Kimberly J Brown's portrayal as Annie Wheaton. I actually know her from Halloweentown, and she portrayed the character amazingly despite that she was typecast as Marnie Piper!
In fact, many of the cast are quite amazing in their own rights and I am glad that they became very successful later on.

The House's Origins

Unlike the 1999 remake of the Haunting, the history of the haunted Winchester House is told in a series of flashback and it is very detailed. In the Haunting 1999 remake, it was very short and no flashback of how Hugh Crain murdered the children for his own personal gains and how Nell is related to him! As well as his motives on why he wants to kill her.
