i wouldn't describe a lot of those characters as distinguished....i love them but characterizing them as "distinguished"....i don't know about that.

i think maxwell sheffield, derek shepherd, and frasier crane are the 3 characters on the list (of the ones i know) that i would describe as distinguished. maybe sayid also.

i can see why someone might call big distinguished...but i don't really think of him that way.

and while i love chuck bass, ari gold, and jack mcfarland- i would never describe any of them as distinguished. maybe chuck could be considered distinguished this season of GG...but i wouldn't say so for the first 2 seasons.
but jack...jack??? in my opinion he's one of the least dignified and eminent character i know on tv! i love him, but distinguished? no way.

He broke alot of boundaries for what was exceptable as a male tv character. Was he "dignified? yes. In his own unique way (lol) he was 'out and proud' which was something network tv never attempted before to the extent of his flamboyancy.
