The Dark Knight Rises - What we know, the interpretation of what we know and what the possible story may be

What We Know:-
1.    In the beginning of the movie the general public hates the Batman, and he is wanted by the police.
2.    This will be a fitting conclusion to the Trilogy
3.    It will be epic (never doubted that)
4.    There will be Bane and Catwoman, and Joseph Gordon Levitt
5.    If various rumours are to be believed we may also have Ra’s Al Ghul еще likely in Flashbacks
6.     From Trailer we know that Бэтмен needs to come back to fight the new evil as it rises, thereby implying that he “goes away” for a while
7.    From Trailer, Gordon is in a hospital badly beaten up implying that whatever the new evil is, has managed atleast one big attack where the minus Бэтмен defence of Gotham has been badly bruised
8.    From Trailer, the way the trailer is shot its extremely likely that is new evil is Bane
9.    From Trailer, Gordon says “we were in this together, then Ты went away”, thereby implying a sense of desertion on the part of Batman
10.    From Trailer, its apparent that the theme of the movie is “As Gotham Begins to Crumble…..its protector……the Dark Knight Rises
11.    It been сказал(-а) that the First Scene of the Movie will “blow your mind”

Interpretations:-
1.    This carries over from the Dark Knight, and perhaps is a hint at the movie title, where in the last movie the Dark Knight had fallen (in the eyes of the people), and in this one he will Rise (perhaps they will realize that they need him after all или that they were wrong in out casting him), perhaps hinting at this being a story about redemption.

2.    Its сказал(-а) to be a fitting conclusion to the Trilogy – Well exactly what would be a fitting conclusion to the Trilogy. We have some clues from the earlier two movies, especially the Dark Knight. For one, its often repeated in the Dark Knight that Бэтмен doesn’t want to do it forever, and that Бэтмен himself says that he is working towards the день when one день Бэтмен will no longer be required. Quite likely then that this is the conclusion that will be achieved at the end of the movie. So what I can definitely say is that by the time the end credits roll, Gotham will no longer need a Batman.
The Вопрос is just how is this going to be achieved, and there seems to be only two ways of doing it. One, there is no longer evil in Gotham или atleast nothing that Gordon and his boys cannot handle, или two, Бэтмен has found an able replacement. I am not sure one can ever be sure about point one, and even though by the end of the movie the evil will have been defeated, there is no telling which new form it will take, so I am еще inclined to lean towards the секунда option, an able replacement, или atleast an able group of people who could replace the superhero.

3.    The fact that it will be epic was never in doubt. The only thing it is a pointer to is that the end will be achieved after a lot of hard work and will not look certain for sure and I expect that the Бэтмен is going to be under the weather for most of the movie, before “rising” in the end.

4.    Fortunately comic book characters do give a lot of pointers to what is in store in the movie, as a lot is already known about them. Let’s take Bane, from the trailers its fairly безопасно, сейф bet that he will be the main villain, and he will be exactly what he is in the books, and I think he will take over the Другой мир in Gotham, and “break Batman’s back” at least figuratively, in the movie. Likely Ссылки to Ra’s Al Ghul are also a possibility that I wouldn’t want to rule out. Perhaps, he is the new method Ra’s Al Ghul или his group have adopted after their last attempt to take over Gotham in Бэтмен Begins didn’t materialise. As far as his persona in the movie would be, I expect him to be super strong, and at the same time super intelligent, and superbly deliberative, who plans atleast 10 steps ahead.

Далее is the Catwoman, who as a character is the most exciting, and I think she will be both good and bad in this movie, and as a protagonist, she will help to hold fort during the time, that Бэтмен “goes away” in the movie. Her starting story would, perhaps, be that in the movie she was inspired by Batman, and doesn’t believe him to be responsible for the murders at the end of The Dark Knight, and a lot of idolization and so takes to being a vigilante herself. What will perhaps happen for her character is at point in the movie due to batman’s inaction she will lose faith and work for the other side of the law. Of course this might be reversed totally, and she might start out as being on the other side of the law and later be convinced to Присоединиться the right side. There is of course a third likelihood, and that is that she might be disillusioned by the fact that the Бэтмен was responsible for the murders at the end of TDK, and when the movie starts she will be on the wrong side and late realize as much and Переместить to the right side. Lots of directions that the character could take. What I think the character will be that she will just be someone who will be looking to use the chaos which is present in Gotham and steal some money from the rich. This is the premise which may perhaps lead her to breaking into the Wayne Mansion and learning of Batman’s Identity.

Joesh Gordon Levitt, is the one that I must admit I have little idea about. As far as we know he is going to be something of Gordon’s Right Hand man in the police force, a new addition who has been hired to catch the Batman. There is of course the possibility that he will ultimately turn out to be a villain, who will let his desire to get to the Batman, get the better of him and who will betray everyone at the crucial point in the movie is also something that I am not gonna rule out. Further, only because it’s a Nolan movie, I don’t rule out the possibility that Lewitt might actually just end up playing another role altogether (Riddler??), and it is one of the super secrets of the script right now. Keeping this possibility out, I think he will be a protagonist in the movie who will be a major help to Gordon and who will ultimately be instrumental in the downfall of Bane. I expect his character will initially be hell bent to take down Batman, but later he will understand Batman, perhaps Gorodn will tell him или he will learn on his own (more likely), and also perhaps uncover that Two Face and not Бэтмен was responsible for those murders and Присоединиться Batman's side against Bane.

Now this takes me back to point No. 2 of interpretations above, and to the point of who will replace Batman, and m feeling is that ultimately it will be Levitt’s character and/or catwoman who will get the reigns of protecting Gotham. With Levitt’s character I am prepared to go a step further and say that the handover might even be on the same scale as the one in the Бэтмен of the Future series

5.    Yes, this is rather interesting here, and I think Ra’s Al Ghul will serve two purposes here, one will be as the creator of Bane, and the other, through flashbacks, and will be what he did in the first movie and that will be to guide and inspire Бэтмен to overcome his fears and defeat evil. Well he won’t actually tell Бэтмен how to beat Bane, but Бэтмен will draw inspiration from his teachings when the chips are down in this movie. What seems interesting to me is why have Бэтмен draw inspiration from Ra’s Al Ghul, what happens to Alfred, a point which I deal with later.

6.    The fact that the Бэтмен goes away for a while is very clear from the trailer, but exactly when he does he go away is the point which is rather interesting. What is clear is that its not a small hiatus, and like the first movie, I expect this to be a movie еще about Bruce Wayne and his fears than Batman. Thus I expect that we will have Бэтмен in the beginning and in the end, but the middle will be all Bruce Wayne, till all hell breaks lose and Gordon persuades him to come back.

So then what will happen to make him go away. Well lots of things, for starters, it may be a carryover from TDK, where being pursued by the police he just never surfaces again. What I think is most likely going to happen in the movie though is that we will have Бэтмен in the beginning of the movie, where he will continue to help Gordon despite being chased by the police, and still being a criminal to the world. It is then that he will be visited by Bane who will offer him to Присоединиться him and bring Gotham down after which Бэтмен will go after Bane and be crushed, или what will happen simply is that Bane will be after him as he sees him to be a real problem in taking over Gotham, either way I expect Bane to absolutely destroy Бэтмен in the early parts of the movie, perhaps even kill Alfred, and the Бэтмен will barely escape with his life. It will be a big blow to Bruce Wayne/Batman both Guilt and Physical impossibility will get in his way, who will then call time on his Бэтмен thing and “go away”.

7.    Well yes this is gonna happen, perhaps it will be the moment that will signify the Fall of Gotham, the time when all seems lost, a moment similar to the one in TDK, where Rachel is killed and Dent is burnt, and where the Joker has won a huge hand in the movie. I expect a similar moment towards the end in the TDK Rises.

8.    Yes, I think this point is beyond Дебаты now, and Bane is the one who will pose a threat to the protagonists in the movie, a threat which perhaps in no way will be lesser than the one posed by Joker in the last movie.

9.    This further supports what I have сказал(-а) in point no. 6, Gordon will feel that Batman’s acceptance of defeat as a moment of desertion on his part.

10.    Well what this suggests to me is that Batman’s redemption in the movie will come when its almost certain that all is Остаться в живых and when Gotham has finally fallen.

11.    Well it makes me wanna watch the movie for sure, and I do seem to think of the opening sequence of TDK with the Joker and the Bank Robbery, it was an awesome start to the movie. An opening scene which will blow our mind, is it likely that this opening scene will involve Bane blowing away the Batman.


So What Do I Think Will Be The Plot Of The Movie:-

First things first, this is all just speculation and is based entirely on what we have heard from interviews by people directly involved with the movie, and the Trailer which was leaked recently. I could be wrong and spectacularly so, it’s likely. I will however, try and guess that what the Dark Knight Rises story is going to be.


The movie will start with Бэтмен still being wanted by the Police, though he will continue to help Gordon. Bane however will soon rise in the movie and perhaps offer Бэтмен the opportunity to Присоединиться him, but Бэтмен will refuse and fight Bane, who will physically decimate the Бэтмен (break his back), perhaps even killing Alfred in the process, или perhaps even Marion Cottilard (I have not written much on her so far as I do not really expect her to serve any major role in the movie besides being a Любовь interest. I am well aware how spectacularly wrong I may be here). Бэтмен will be broken and bruised both physically and mentally, and down for the count. Bane will then proceed to take over the Другой мир and Gotham will be in a state of mess. Gordon and his team Levitt will do their best to fight him but to no avail. Levitt meanwhile while trying got capture the Batman, will learn the truth about those murders in the Назад movie and that the Бэтмен was in fact wronged and that he is a true hero, and Присоединиться him in the fight against Bane. In the middle of all this will be the Catwoman who will be doing her burglar bit, thanks to the chaos prevailing in Gotham due to Bane, and who will one день break into the Wayne Mansion, and while there learn of the true identity of the Batman, and will be inspired by him или his story rather, to Присоединиться the right side so to speak. She might be a regular visitor to Wayne and secretly fall in Любовь with the Бэтмен just like in books, and urge Bruce Wayne to once again take up arms, and perhaps even help nurse him to health. In the middle of all this Bruce will keep getting flashbacks of the time spent with Ra’s Al Ghul, which will help him gain the strength to rise again. Bane in the meantime will go on wreaking havoc on the city the exact nature of which I do not want to speculate, but which may involve killing a few officials, perhaps even Gordon’s family (Gordon does seem down for the count in the hospital scene, and its not only the physical pain which shows on his face), leading upto the darkest час moment, where Bane wins and Gotham seems to be Остаться в живых forever. This is when Бэтмен will visit Gordon in the hospital and the conversation from the trailers will happen, and finally Batman, when Gotham needs him most, will Rise. The Бэтмен will however find himself in trouble soon against Bane, and I expect Bane to again give the Бэтмен a good hammering, but then at this point Catwoman and Levitt’s character will intervene, and the Бэтмен will guide them, but they will be ones who based on Batman’s directions defeat Bane. This will finally mean that The Dark Knight has someone to pass on the baton to and with the promise to return should they need help, walk into the sunset, thus bringing the trilogy to a fitting end.
