As clarification: Christine is not an idiot because she chose Raoul over Erik. I get that. Erik's a handful even when you kind of know what to expect from him. Christine is an idiot because 1. you really think just sitting on the roof is going to protect you? When you, yourself said that Erik knows EVERYTHING that goes on in the Opera? 2. You actually ran to check on the Voice after the chandelier fell. Angels don't get squished under chandeliers! 3. Fail at espionage. The proper way to handle busting Raoul and the Persian out would have been to get untied (ok, accomplished), then send Erik on some stupid little errand ('my goodness, but I am parched. Erik, would you be ever so sweet and fetch me a glass of water?') get him OUT OF THE ROOM before you steal the bag with the keys in. (not that I recommend trying to trick Erik in the first place, especially when he's mad. But for the love of god, woman, use your head!) 4. When Erik says 'don't touch the mask' DON'T TOUCH THE MASK! 5. When Erik says 'don't lose my ring' DON'T LOSE THE RING! 6. Hate to say it, but Raoul was right. It's not going to be possible for you to SNEAK OUT THE BACK without destroying Erik in the process. Singing one last time only gives him an opportunity. Just go, you twit. 7. When the Angel of Music starts sounding like a jealous lover, it's time to be more than slightly suspicious.
I still maintain he would have ended up getting sick of her eventually. A pretty face will only win you so many points stacked against being a trembling little ninny. I once again freely admit to being dreadfully biased, jealous, and bitter.

And as for your note Chatterbox....you've seen the Dario Argento version, right? All together now, "WTF! Dario! That's your DAUGHTER!!!" But if that was the case we can only be shocked that Christine didn't grow up to be a stripper.....Although in the 1880s chorus girl and stripper were about on the same social level.....*shrug*

i dont know what the dario argento version is lol - i've only seen the phantom of the opera 2004 movie version - hehe i agree with u over the phantom replacing piangi moment - :)

Agree with everything (or most of) the Phantomess's list! Especially the point about Phantom replacing Piangi... why are so many female protagonists dumb?
