Why should Stefan be grateful? ^Stefan has had Damon's back too.

How is he ungrateful? Since season one, Stefan has fought for Damon's humanity. He has defended him and protected him from supernatural forces such as Bonnie. He promised that he wouldn't leave Damon in the tomb. He risked his life to save Damon's in the finale of S1. Stefan has had so many opportunities to kill Damon. And vice versa. But they still stand.

They both act like they hate each other, but deep down, we know that they care for each other. Their brotherhood is stronger than any argument.

well stefan knows how much damon is trying to be the good guy, but when he rubs it in his face, for example in 2x19 when he said that he will always have elena's "respect", he only tears damon down again, and i mean, wtf? totally uncalled for! damon was definitely on edge the rest of the episode.

Dude, why should he be grateful? I mean, sure I love Damon as a character (and he's totally hot, but that's not the point :P) but honestly, even I wouldn't want him as a brother. Because first of all, DAMON isn't grateful and STEFAN is a much better brother.

Damon has given up things for his brother? And Stefan hasn't shown Damon any grace? Stefan has stopped people from killing Damon countless times. Pretty sure he helped Damon gain adversaries such as Alaric, Bonnie, Elena, and even Jenna. How many times has Bonnie tried to kill Damon? How many times has Stefan had the chance to kill Damon?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Some fans are too frikkin biased to realize that Damon does some very wrong things. Sure he's a vampire. But there's right and wrong. And Damon crosses the line between them many times. There is NO justice in anything wrong he does.

I can't believe people are saying Stefan is ungrateful when in fact, Stefan cares for Damon. He freaking defends him all the time. He also fought for his humanity in pretty much the entirety of season 1. Last night, Stefan stood up to Damon. One of the rare times.

Neither of them is a good brother to the other. True brothers would not compete for the same girl. I think Damon is better than Stefan. But that isn't saying much. I think they both could learn a lot from the Winchesters.
