The curse goes away when a new hunter rises. After Connor died, Jeremy became Далее in line. For Jeremy to officially become a hunter, he had to kill a vampire или hybrid. Klaus let Jeremy kill one of his hybrids in exchange for a дата with Caroline. Jeremy then became the Далее hunter, and the curse was lifted from Elena.
Elena was only haunted by Connor for a день because Stefan had Jeremy kill the hybrid Chris ,and activate the hunter's mark.
Damon found out from Professor Shane that any vampire who kills one of the Five hunters are haunted by the hunter that they killed until a new hunter is activate. So since Jeremy was already a potential hunter of the five, Stefan took him over to Klaus's house to kill a hybrid (Tyler's friend Chris) and activate the hunter's mark. So that Connor will no longer haunted Elena.
