(Photo : AMC/Facebook) Steven Yeun of "The Walking Dead" recently provided some spoilers about the remainder of season 5. He suggested that Glenn may not always be as positive as he typically is. He also mentions his funniest cast member and if Glenn would ever be able to lie to Maggie.
"The Walking Dead" actor Steven Yeun has become famous for his role as Glenn in the popular AMC series. In a recent interview, he discussed his character lying to Maggie, the humor of Carol and possible season five spoilers that are increasingly relevant as February\'s midseason premiere approaches.
The news comes to Design & Trend via Entertainment Weekly writer Dalton Ross, who sat down with Yeun back in October. The chat covered many of season five\'s earlier happenings, but we\'ve whittled it down to the most important details.
Folks that watched previous episodes of "The Walking Dead" will likely remember Tara\'s confession to Maggie that she had been present when Greene\'s father died. When asked if Glenn would have lied or hid that information from his girlfriend had that discussion not taken place, Yeun replied in the negative. To him, Glenn and Maggie possess solid communication skills that hardly ever involve lies. Not only would Glenn know how to present the complexity of the situation to Maggie, but he would also understand her response to the scenario. In few words, Glenn and Maggie appear as perfect as viewers hope that they are.
Quite unexpected however, was Yeun\'s comments on the humor of his cast. While Glenn is one of many "Walking Dead" characters with humorous undertones, Yeun sees greater hilarity in Melissa McBride\'s Carol instead. "Everything she does is so honest that even if she is saying some weird quippy joke it\'s just so real," he says. This statement meant to be a great credit to his cast and directors for establishing the correct atmosphere on the show.
As far as the rest of "The Walking Dead" season five is concerned, Yeun made some remarks that might tease spoilers for future episodes. While the actor notes that Glenn continues to survive through some terrible situations, a theme for later shows is discovering "what part of this gamut between savagery or humanity [does the group] want to sit on." He furthers the thought that the world will continue to tear down Glenn\'s search for peace. In a rather cryptic way, he ends the topic with "I wouldn\'t be surprised if you see that affect him a little bit as it goes on."
While the source interview is somewhat old, the quote becomes important because it lines up with statements from Yeun that Design & Trend reported last week. In sum, there\'s a suggestion that Glenn may not always be the super positive "Walking Dead" champion that we know him to be today.
As most series fans already know, "The Walking Dead" returns to AMC on Feb. 8.
Do you think Glenn\'s unwillingness to lie and positivity will continue throughout the rest of season five? Do you find Carol hilarious too? Let us know in the comments section!
