Nah, it wouldn't have worked. If Rose had spent any more time in that water than she did, she would have died. That's the whole point of the tragedy of it; it was one or the other.

There was definitely enough room for both of them. I remember thinking that when I saw the movie years ago.

jack and rose did try to share the door but it wouldnt balance and if they wouldve taken turns they might have both died

This was a confusing question... And a response to la_bomba29 other than the fact that they were off balance on the door, had they both gotten on, the door would have been about a foot underwater from their combined weight, resulting in them both dying...

I think if they took turns on the door, they could have both survived. Giving them each a chance to sit out of water. It would have been a smarter choice for Jack.

Good idea, I'm not sure if it would have worked though!! But at least the movement would have kept them warm.
I never understood why all the people just stayed still in the one place. They were just asking for hypothermia! I would have swam about, although, on reflection, I suppose that a lot of the people probably couldn't swim.

I always asked myself why they DIDN'T take turns : D Yeah I know, the door wouldn't have balanced but it's kinda like an air bed floating on the water xD

um no then it would have made him look like not much of a gentleman and we would not have believed in their love as much. It was perfect the way it is; my fiance would put me on the raft too and never ask for a turn. No matter how cold he got.

That board was freaking big. Both of them could've fit on it and then shared body heat. They just had to get on it the smart way and level out each other's weight so it didn't flip... my gosh. That was the part where I hated their characters!

But Jack wouldn't of let Rose freeze.

They both would have died because it's so hard to get on a floating device in deep water. Jack tried to get on the raft with Rose.
