I want to, and people keep telling me "just go for it," but I feel like everything I want to say to him are things everyone says to him, and it'd just be a big waste of his time :(

It's not a waste of time!! as long as you haven't written the usual and boring stuff like 'I love and admire you, you're the best' I believe he's one of those actors that really cares about fans. I hope someday see your letter because I'm curious and maybe I'll show you mine too.
