“Yes, again, another weird experience at the very same school where a storm occurred, and now it seems as if something happened yet again. A call to the police from the one of the students или staff was made claiming that their power was off and in the distance they heard screaming and what-not, were thinking it’s a severe burglary, and a perfectly planned one if so.”
“Why…? Is this book so important to them? Why can’t we be left alone for at least a second?” Edith wailed going to sit in the sofa. “Hopefully the police will get them.”
“Doubt it,” I say. “They may not have the book’s power, but they sure do have some kind of power, we need to be careful.”
“Tell us something we don’t know,” Brooklyn muttered. “Bloody idiots won’t leave us alone.”
Zaria scrunched up her brow, “but what can we do to…I don’t know, throw them off.”
I shrugged. “I bet that’s what they want, why don’t we just…you know, leave those idiots alone. Keep going to school, go to the mall, act like normal teenagers, because if we don’t, were suspicious.” I look at them. “Think about it, if those guys aren’t caught, and nobody suspects, they could come again and make up some excuse, they could find the people absent, hiding, hiding from them, then they get them. There older than us, clever than us, and I bet Ты they had the book once, their the real deal, we can’t make too many mistakes.”
“She’s right,” Iris says, “and we shouldn’t hide from those guys anyway, if they want us, they can come and get us. We’ll be ready, we have the book.”
“One question,” Alex raised his hand. “How did that book get there in the first place? It had to be something, not accident, and I bet it has to do with them, because I have to tell you, we haven’t done many crazy things to get a force like that here, maybe freaks, but not them.”
“Wait a minute,” Mikey paused. “Are Ты saying Ты think that this was their number one place, because they knew something loads of years назад happened here?”
Alex nodded. “Makes the most sense, the book was under water, in a crate, remember those few years back, in elementary, when some surfers found that dead body in that same exact ocean, it was a skeleton, and it had a bullet hole in it, remember, and we all joked about ghost stories and what not.”
“Woah, oh no.” Abe said. “That skeleton… belonged to a person…who may have been the Назад owner of our book.”
“Makes sense,” Terry said. “Bullet hole, years ago, same ocean as our book, and I bet you, that was one of the reasons we found the book, because the corpse was gone. It’s like…the book was…waiting for us…”
I shook my head. “Okay, stop right there, I believe in everything happening for a reason, but things like this, like the book was it’s own person, fate, no.”
“Fate is exactly like things happening for a reason,” Terry protested.
“Well, I don’t think so, but I do believe we were meant, I сказал(-а) meant right?, to find the book.” I say. “But, do Ты think were meant to die too?”
“No,” Iris shook her head. “No way, we’ve had to many close calls, and besides, even if we were meant too, I’m not going down without a fight.”
“Amen sister!” Darren yelled.
“So…? What’s next?” Zaria looked at us. “Do we go back to the school? To the ocean? Or-”
“The mall,” I say confidently.
They all look at me like I’m nuts. And I smile at them, deviously.
“Trust me guys, I know what I’m doing.”
