Chapter 6 – Sweet Dreams Are Made of What Now? (Renesmee)
I turned off the Телевидение as the credits rolled, placed the попкорн bowl back on the end table, and crawled under the covers. I lay quietly, listening to the slow and steady breathing of my two Друзья who slept beside me. I stared around the room, taking in the brightness of the full moon outside like some kind of protective wonder. It was soothing, not being alone, not keeping my life too much of a secret anymore. The house was silent, even below. My parents had gone Главная to our cottage for the night, Alice and Jasper decided to take a joy ride and Rosalie and Emmett were in the гараж which left only Carlisle and Esme who were both sitting silently at their desks sketching, calculating, and debating to themselves.
I heaved a restful sigh as I rolled onto my side to stare out the window. In the distance I could make out the silhouette of the large волк I knew to be Jacob lying peacefully just before the trees his head on his paws, the light shining off of his wet nose. I smiled to myself. My mind wandered outward.
Somehow, I found myself standing on Grandpa Charlie’s street. I shivered uncharacteristically as the wind blew toward me from the south. How odd, I was actually cold. There was something strange about this scene, more, this situation. I was naturally a “creature” of the night, usually unperturbed by such things as darkness and eerie sounds in the distance. With yet another involuntary quake I opened my senses up as far as they could go. I saw nothing in the evening’s black that draped over the spaces where the streetlights couldn’t reach, heard only the leaves rustling as they brushed against each other and the scents I picked up were not the same, weak and natural. What was еще I could not taste my surroundings.
Was something wrong? Was I broken?
I shook the thought from my head. There was no way I was different—acute vampire senses didn’t just up and leave at their discretion. I shook off the feelings of distress noting to myself that I was just fine. With a chuckle at my idiocy I moved quickly down the street, expecting Grandpa Charlie’s voice to be there, waiting to bring me back to reality.
I stopped at the driveway. Somehow this scene was even еще uninviting than the empty улица, уличный had been. Inside I could see only one light, coming from the lamp in the living room. It was throwing ominous shapes against the curtains like someone had spilled something over the normally bright, white shade, darkening it in places.
Like usual, I let my curiosity get the best of me and moved toward the front door. I placed my hand on the knob and it fell open without pressure. My eyes narrowed as I stepped over the threshold.
“Grandpa? Are Ты here?” I pushed the door shut with a click. I looked into the dark kitchen. Still I saw nothing that was not artificially illuminated. A soft sob broke the silence turning my attention to the living room. Walking cautiously вперед I made my way into the dimly lit room. “Papa?” I whispered, on edge, ready to fight. The lamp light was radiating up from the floor. On closer inspection of the shade, it was spattered with blood, drips and smears ran all around the top, the moist liquid dripped to the floor from the lamp itself. My breathing became panicked, labored. “Grandpa!”
“Nessie,” The familiar voice сказал(-а) thickly. I rushed to the corner where he sat, his knees pulled to his chest, shaking.
I pressed my palm to his cheek, “Jacob? Jacob, what’s going on? Are Ты hurt?”
“Nessie, they’re dead.”
“Dead? Who—”
“I couldn’t stop it. I-I’m so sorry.” He grabbed my upper arms, squeezing tightly,” Forgive me Nessie, please! Please forgive me!”
“Jacob, for-forgive Ты for what?” I stammered as fear took over my every instinct.
He stared into my eyes silently. It was hard to look at this frightened and lonely version of Jacob, painful.
“Jacob! Answer me!”
His eyes drifted slowly upward over my head. They widened slowly and his shaking turned to near convulsions. Turning to find his gaze I froze. A shadowy figure stood in the foyer, cloaked and frightening. Blood dripped lightly onto the hardwood floor from its chin and hands. The creature flowed toward us with ease. Jacob shoved me aside as it bore down upon us.
“Run, Nessie!” He screeched as the creature pushed itself upon him. I took off up the stairs, a stupid move, but I was hoping to find someone else alive. Jacob’s blood curdling screams pushed me to tears as I threw open my grandfather’s bedroom door.
“Grandpa!” I stepped through the doorway and tripped. Recovering I realized I was lying over вверх of my grandfather’s dead body. With a scream I pushed myself backward out of the room, scooting down the hall until my back was pressed against the door at the end of the hall, my mother’s old room.
I turned the knob from my position on the floor and fell inside. I leapt to my feet and slammed the door, locking it instantly. I backed cautiously from the door, my eyes burning from the tears and my knee some how sore from tripping. I was finally pressed against the window, the moon pouring in around me. As I stared down at the shadow my silhouette cast upon the floor. There, protruding through my shape was a shiny, dark smear trailing across the floor from the doorway to the bed. Lifting my eyes slowly I looked over the footboard and moved slowly up to the head. Lying intertwined upon the mattress were my parents, their eyes wide, their clothing torn and spattered with blood. I ran to the постель, кровати kneeling on the mattress, I pressed my fingers to each of their cheeks. They were warm, with еще color than normal and their skin was soft and supple.
Human.
I pressed my fingers to their throats, trying to find a pulse I was so used to not being there but somehow hoped would be this time. Their hearts were still, just as their bodies were, Холодное сердце and lifeless. And not even in a good way, the way I liked them to be. At least as Вампиры they could talk and laugh . . . and love.
“No,” I managed weakly, putting my hands to my face as sobs pulled my body into uncontrollable quakes of fear and sadness. But, how could this be? Why was this happening? How was this possible? They were invincible! It was known that the only true way to kill a vampire was to tear it to shreds and burn it before the creature could reform. There was no cure for vampirism. If there had been Grandpa Carlisle probably would have found it by now.
I jumped with a shriek as a thud exuded from the hall. I felt my chest rise and fall as I fought for air under my fear. The door shook violently, the thudding turning to banging and increasing in volume. Thinking quickly I darted to the window. I forced the frame upward looking down to the трава below.
It wasn’t really that much of a drop and besides, I was half vampire and a jump like this would be nothing. All I would have to do is make it to the woods and call for help. Someone would be there. At this point I didn’t care if they were human, wolf, или vampire. I climbed onto the windowsill, glancing back only once at my beloved parents. The banging continued as I turned back to the ground and took the leap I believed would take me to safety.
Tearing, twisting, shattering, straining. My right leg might as well have been paralyzed, that’s about how much use it was after that little feat. I fell to my knees from the pain, gasping and trying my best not to scream. I bit down on my lip and twisted my right leg вперед to assess the damage. I could feel the blood beginning to pool in my foot from the torn ligaments and tendons and see the bits of broken bone that threatened to puncture my skin at the slightest wrong movement. I realized why my senses failed me, I too was some how human.
A growl above alerted me to the creature’s presence. It was looking down at me out of the open window. Groaning, I pushed myself up onto my left leg, dragging my useless appendage along as quickly as possible.
The rain began to fall. I was half way to my goal when I heard the screen door slam against the siding. I whimpered uselessly, dragging my broken leg along. No matter what the situation I was sure this creature could beat me in any race, especially now. Humans were not notorious for their speed and agility unless they were one of the rare few who made it to the Olympics.
I could hear the rough breathing behind me, anger and longing mingled with undoubted thirst fighting to catch an unwilling and desperately fragile prey. I could see clearly into the first few feet of the path before me now, and my clothing was some how heavier than normal, I limped on groaning and crying in despair.
“Help me!” I screamed as I made it past the first trees. There was nothing but the ragged breaths behind me. Where was the rest of my family? My aunts and uncles? My grandparents? They would be strong enough to fight this evil that was stalking me. “Somebody please!” There was still no answer. I was a good fifteen feet into the woods now, my pace slowing as the pain grew. “Anybody?” I pleaded weakly, through free falling tears. I was alone, there was no one left to save me. It was time to succumb to the fate I had been dealt. I halted suddenly, my right side throbbing. Though I was human I would put up a fight. It wouldn’t take me so easy.
It stopped too.
I turned slowly to the creature, my eyes fixed in anger and determination. The creature did nothing but stare. I was now under the impression that it didn’t want to hurt me. But why else would it kill the people I loved? Slowly but surly it lifted its hands to grasp either side of the soaking, black hood. My hands shook while my сердце raced; I could feel my breathing gather speed. I was about to see my pursuer, the creature that murdered my parents, my grandfather and my Jacob. The creature let his капот, худ hang loosely behind him, a smile spread across his face, stretching the nearly translucent, paper skin.
I glared heavily at him, “Why are Ты doing this?”
“Because it is necessary. Ты will come with me now, Renesmee.”
“I will not. You’ll have to kill me.”
“I do not wish to harm you, young one.”
“I don’t really care what Ты wish.”
“You are certain? I cannot change your mind?”
I stared daggers into him. I shook my head, “Never.”
“So be it.” He crouched with a hiss. I screamed.
“Renesmee!”
I opened my eyes quickly. It had been a nightmare; the worst yet. The light was on, Kasie and Michelle were sitting upright, their faces full of fright, Grandpa Carlisle stood at the foot of the постель, кровати and Nana Esme sat beside me, her hands still holding tight to my upper arms.
“Renesmee, are Ты all right?” She asked pulling me into a hug.
I cried into her shoulder, “Fine.”
“Oh, darling what’s wrong?”
“Nightmare,” I sobbed. I felt a little stupid making all my Ответы one word but I couldn’t seem to get еще out at the moment.
“Can Ты tell me what it was about?”
I sniffled, pulling away to look her in the eye, “Aro.”
Esme shot a disturbed look to Carlisle.
He frowned, shaking his head slowly, “Nessie, Ты don’t have to worry about him anymore.”
“He killed them!” I shrieked without thinking. I could only imagine what my Друзья were thinking at that moment.
“Who?” He asked calmly, glancing to Michelle and Kasie whose faces had turned now to worry.
“Grandpa Charlie, Jacob!” I paused as fresh tears surfaced. “Mom and Dad,” I murmured, looking down at my hands as they twisted over and over each other.
“Renesmee your parents are fine. They’re at the cottage for the night.” Esme consoled, wiping the tears from my cheeks.
“And I’m sure Jacob and Charlie are all right as well.”
I sighed, nodding at the stupidity of it all. I knew we weren’t in any danger. It had been years since we’d heard anything from the Volturi. So why now was I suddenly so terrified of them?
“Come on; let’s get Ты some hot chocolate.” Esme took my hand and pulled me from the bed. “You too girls, come along.” Kasie and Michelle crawled cautiously from the bed, following behind Esme and me while Carlisle turned to the large windows behind with a sigh.
Esme sat the three of us on the couch, covering us with an афганец, афганский, афганские Sue had дана her for Рождество last год and rested my head on my hand as she turned to the kitchen. Carlisle moved swiftly through the room to follow with a sigh.
“Perhaps Ты should get Edward and Bella.” Esme whispered. “Maybe it will help.”
“Yes. I’ve spoken with Jacob as well.” Before another word passed I heard the back door click shut.
The front door flew open and Jacob entered; I jumped lightly.
“Nessie?” He asked gently, lifting my elbow from the arm rest and taking a seat, his hand holding tightly to mine. “Are Ты all right?”
I nodded.
“She had a nightmare,” Michelle murmured, not removing her eyes from my face.
“What about?” He asked; his voice was just as smooth and consoling as when he entered.
I shrugged, staring at the black screen of the television.
“Someone named, Aro,” Kasie сказал(-а) quickly, looking to Jacob as he ran his fingers through my hair.
Jacob’s hand fell still, his eyes moving to Kasie’s then back to the вверх of my head, “Aro? Where did that come from?”
“I’m not sure.” I сказал(-а) flatly, not moving my gaze.
“Nessie?” My mother’s voice rang warm and worried across the silent room as Esme appeared carrying a tray with three steaming mugs of hot chocolate. She served my Друзья then took a сиденье, место, сиденья on the arm beside Kasie as Mom knelt down on the floor in front of me. “Are Ты all right?”
I nodded with a sigh, placing my hand to her cheek and letting the events of my dream play out in full.
She pulled in a sharp breath as I removed my hand, looking instantly to my father, “Edward?” I looked up, wondering why her eyes set deeper with concern.
His brows were pulled together, his expression was solemn. Hidden subtly within his eyes though was fear and I was sure had he been human, tears would have spilled outward.
“Daddy,” I сказал(-а) quickly as he turned for the back door.
My mother ran her fingers down my cheek not removing her eyes from my father’s retreat. She rose swiftly and was following just as the doorknob struck the glass around the door frame.
“What’s wrong with him?” Kasie whispered, watching the scene from unknowledgeable eyes.
“Don’t worry about him, Honey.” Esme said, patting her shoulder. “He’s just a bit worrisome.”
“Aren’t we all?” Jacob asked, squeezing my hand.
“What is there to worry about?” I asked crossly.
“It’s the idea. Just thinking we could be in danger again.” Carlise began, crossing the room to take a сиденье, место, сиденья in the кресло beside Jacob. He sighed, “What exactly did Ты see?”
I stewed for a minute, uneasy about explaining. “I was at Charlie’s and Jacob was there, he tried to warn me. Далее thing Ты know I’m running away from some—thing, Grandpa Charlie, Mom and Dad are dead, and then Aro’s telling me I have to come with him.” I looked around the room at the stern and anxious faces of my Друзья and grandparents. “It was nothing. I could probably go right back to sleep to be honest.” I had to lie. What other choice did I have? Any other answer would send them all straight into some kind of psychotic research mode. In the end, I would be stuck staying at Grandpa Charlie's only allowed to leave if I was going to school.
It was silent while they contemplated my statement.
Esme sighed, “Why don’t Ты three stay down here tonight?”
Kasie and Michelle nodded.
“I’ll go get some blankets and pillows. Why don’t Ты pull out the sofa bed,” She сказал(-а) with a nod toward Carlisle who rose from his seat.
We put in another movie, some romantic comedy featuring Jennifer Lopez—obviously Aunt Rosalie’s—and got comfortable in front of the plasma screen. My Друзья drifted off while I sat up staring blindly at the movement on the television. Jacob was sitting in the arm chair closest to me, his head lulled back and his eyes closed. Right now, I just wanted to be alone. Sleeping или not, there were still too many people nearby. Silently, I rose from my place and climbed the stairs.
I needed time to think. What would motivate my dreams to turn toward horror? I would never wish my parents dead, nor my grandfather или Jacob. I crawled into the king size bed, pulling the sheets and Золото bedspread to my chin. I let my mind wander once more; hoping something so terrifying wouldn’t find me again tonight.

This is my Twilight book. Number seven! (Behind Twilight, Forever Dawn, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn, and Midnight Sun) This book is mainly in Renesmee's POV and a little of Jacob's. Enjoy!

It was scarier than anything I could've ever imagined. And, honestly, I had never expected it to come to this. I had wanted this in the begininng but never thought it would work. But it had, and now I understood my mother's story. Only this was much worse.

Oh, how I wish I were a перчатка, перчатки so that I might touch that cheek.

Hi, I'm Isabella лебедь but Ты can call me Bella. I live in Forks, with my father Charlie. I've lived in this tiny town my whole life. I know every corner, every bush, every дерево like the back of my hand.
My best friend is Jacob Black. He lives a few blocks away from me, on La Push Drive. We've known each other since we were kids, and we've always been close. Never left each other for anyone. Always been each others rock. When my mum left, he was my shoulder to cry on. When his mum died, I was at his house 24/7. Nothing has ever come between us. That was, until a new family moved into town, who called themselves the Cullens.
comment, tell me what Ты think so i know if its worth finishing!!!
