It's distasteful and very childish, but they don't really NEED to stop...

People (Not all people, but a great deal of them) always insult people who like something they don't. They like to think they have a superior taste like to believe everything they don't like is stupid.

They only insult Ты so that they can get a reaction and believe you're stupid for reacting.
(I know this because I've talked to those who say they hate Twilight, pretending to hate it myself. All the conversations went pretty much the same)

The best thing Ты can do when someone bashes Ты as a person because of your preferences is to just acknowledge that Ты heard words come out of their mouth, but Ты are unphased by what they are saying.
(Just imagine Ты in their shoes and how Ты would react if someone ignored your insults)
It just shows that anything negative and hollow they have to say about your person isn't important to you.

If Ты get upset when they insult the story, just say something smart and Переместить on (unless you're looking to debate). It's something they won't expect.

They shouldn't be using the term gay to begin with. It's offensive and totally immature.

Well, yes, I do. Because the term "gay" is not an intelligent insult whatsoever. It's very childish and immature. Фильмы cannot have a sexual orientation. Nor can books. Unless the character(s) in it are. But in Twilight's case, that is a negitive.

But, the sad part, is that when some (not all) people don't have the same tastes или interests that Ты do, they feel that they must bash it and its fanbase. Which is ridiculous. People have their own opinions on what they like and dislike. Gay either means happy или attracted to the same sex. I don't find Twilight "happy", and there aren't any gays, lesbians, или bisexuals in it.

So calling it gay is nonsense.

Most of the time, yes. I think that people should be allowed to have their own opinions, but there are plenty of situations where those who dislike the series пересекать, крест the line.

hey..i'm a twilight Фан too..and is currently a member of a site which is all about the twistuffs..
and on our Форумы we often talk about that..of course we all knew that if there's a hype, there will always be a Фан and the haters..so i think it's all right if we can hear other people saying negative things about twilight, it's their own opinion..let's just think it this way...we are all lucky enough cause we are the ones who had the gift to appreciate and Любовь a very wonderful story..too bad for them they can't see how great the twilight saga story is...plus the word "gay" also have another meaning which corresponds to "happiness"...so cheer up pipz!!!..(^^,)
