well he couldn't have cuz when u imprint on some1 that other person is ur other half, rite? soo if he had imprinted on bella she would have 2 love him a lot more, am i right??

Starry-eyed, I think the Bella does love Jacob enough to potentially be his "other half", but she is overwhelmed by her love for Edward and her feelings about him, because he's her first love. I think that her love for Jacob pales in comparison in Bella's opinion. Afterall, Edward "dazzles" her; Jacob is "only" her best friend (which, come to think of it, is kinda a good basis for a happy relationship).

Stephenie herself has said that Jacob hasn't imprinted on Bella. He did try to force himself to do it, but it's not something you can force. It just happens the first time you see someone after you've become a werewolf. Personally, I'd like to see Jake imprint on someone in the next book.
