George Clark looked at his newborn son Lucas. Devestated at the death of his wife, he wonders why she couldn't stop her alcoholic addiction, especially for her own child. After they found out she was pregnant, George encouraged her to go to theorpy, have interventions, или anything to stop her addiction. Nothing would help. Even knowning that she had a son on the way, she still drank. George refused to raise Luke all by himself. He felt like he wouldn't be a good enough single father to raise him. He tried for a month, but took Luke to an orphanage, hoping that his son would be adopted and have a good family. A few days later, a woman named Sylvia Walker went to the orphanage to adopt a baby boy. Her and her husband Kurt, have a daughter named Karrie (4yrs old) but they planned to have two children. Since Sylvia thought that she couldn't have anymore children, she decided to adopt a child that needed a Главная and a family. She was looking at the Дети in the nursery, but one baby especially caught her attention. She picked Luke up in her arms, as she felt a sensation come over her. The sensation was beautiful. The type of feeling that Ты get when Ты hold your newborn baby in your arms for the first time. The first time that she felt this, was when Karrie was born, and the sensation does feel a little different, since she's adopting Luke, but her Любовь for him will be the same as she loves her daughter. Sylvia took Luke Главная that day, and the first thing that she did was hold him, waiting for her husband to come Главная from work. Karrie looked at the baby. She was curious about him, since he was adopted by them. Karrie: Who were his real parents? Sylvia: I don't know. All I know is, that we're going to take really good care of him. Karrie: Oh. Why did his parents leave him? Sylvia: I don't know sweetie. I don't know who his parents are или anything about them. We are his family now, okay? Karrie: He's pretty. So, we get to keep him? Sylvia: Honey, that's what an adoption is. Ты sign papers and forms so Ты can adopt a child или even a pet, and they live at that person's Главная for a long time. Karrie: Can Ты give that person back if they're bad? Sylvia: Ты could, if they're causing major problems. Karrie: I don't wanna give the baby back. He's so small he could fit into my doll's clothes. Sylvia: We aren't going to give Luke back. He's my son now, and your little brother. Will Ты be a good big sister? Karrie: Yes, Mommy. I will help take good care of him. Kurt: Hi! i'm home! Where's the baby at? Sylvia: Right here, sweetie. Kurt: Aw! Let me take a look at him. Wow! He's beautiful. Kurt Walker сказал(-а) nothing after that. He held Luke in his arms, just amazed by him. Luke opened up his eyes and looked up, and smiled a little at Kurt. They were amazed. They haven't seen a baby so beautiful, since Karrie was born.
Three years later, Karrie was seven and Luke was three. Luke followed Karrie around, especially whenever she had Друзья over, and whenever Karrie was getting ready for school, Luke would hold on to her and tell her not to leave. Karrie complains a little about Luke, but she still loves him to death. She taught him how to make cereal, do a split, and cartwheel. She also reads him bedtime stories, and sings him to sleep. Karrie would read Luke story Книги like, Wizard of Oz, Jungle Book, Dr. Seuss books, Alice in Wonderland, and Alice Through The Looking Glass. They would pretend to play the main characters from the story Книги in the backyard. They both had a tight sibling relationship. Pretty much wherever Karrie went, Luke followed her around. Three еще years came on Luke's sixth birthday, when Karrie bought Luke a magic kit for his birthday. Luke became obsessed with the art of illusion when Karrie and her Друзья were doing card tricks, when they had a slumber party at their house one night. When Luke started kindergarten, something was wrong with him. Violent mood swings and temper tantrums happened, but no one triggered it. No one hurt him, bullied him или anything. He just started thrashing around screaming. Sylvia took him to the doctor when she saw this happen at her house, and they were just sitting there watching t.v, and Luke's temper tantrums occurred. She knew then, something was wrong......
