'Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!'
I moaned and pawed at the snooze button. "One еще minute," I moaned.
Something landed on my stomach. "Oof!" I sat up. My dog, Angus, looked up at me, his head cocked.
I moaned, pulled myself out of bed, and yanked open my drawer.
The only things I had were too-small, wrinkled jeans, a black T-shirt with a rip up the front, and something lacy that I was pretty sure belonged to my sister, Carrie. Anything else was too thick, too thin, или something my grandmother gave me.
I went over to the hamper and pulled a рубашка and and pair of pants out. I sniffed them. They didn't smelled too bad. I got dressed and went downstairs.
Carrie was sitting at the кухня table, eating cereal. My other sister, Lara, was pouring her cereal into her оранжевый juice. She was really excited that she was starting kindergarten.
In a month, she'd probably hate school. Like any other normal kid.
I pulled a granola bar out of the cabinet and opened it. I bit into it.
"They're really gross, D.J.," Carrie said.
I choked on the disgusting, large bite of granola bar, spitting it into the wrapper and throwing it away. "Maybe Ты could have told me that before I took a bite," I said.
Carrie stood up. "There's our bus, D.J. No, stay here, Lara, Ты still go to elementary school. Ты ride a different bus."
Me and Carrie walked out the door and clambered onto the bus.
My eyes scanned the bus for my best friend, Klara. I found her and sat down Далее to her.
"Look!" Klara сказал(-а) excitedly.
"What, no 'did Ты have a nice summer?'" I asked.
Klara rolled her eyes. "Did Ты have a nice summer?"
I sighed. "Look at what, Klara?"
"A girl moved into the house Далее to mine. That's her!"
I looked where she was pointing.
The girl was sitting in the сиденье, место, сиденья across from ours. She had hair the color of dark wood, and her skin was the color of snow. She was Чтение a book.
The girl looked up and saw me watching her. Her pale blue eyes flashed with uncertainty for a moment, then the corners of her mouth lifted in a hesitant smile. She turned back to her book.
At that moment, I knew I was in love.
