Chapter Four of the fiction story I wrote EXCLUSIVELY for Fanpop. Enjoy!
Summer rode her bike down the pathway excitedly. "I can't wait to get Ты two home!" she exclaimed.
But as soon as they stopped at the farm gates, the Собаки began to get scared. The двор фермы, ферма, скотный двор was full of Животные they had rarely ever been around. Cows and horses, sheep, pigs, ducks, and goats made all sorts of commotion. The Собаки whimpered.
Summer stroked Zoey's back. "It's okay. You're not going to stay here. We'll go over to the house. Follow me."
Summer got off her bike, lifted Zoey out of the basket, and leaned her bike against the fence.
"Come on. I'll carry Zoey."
Shadow crawled nervously through the fence gates. He looked around, then began scampering after Summer.
Summer opened the door.
"Mom! Dad!"
Summer's mother, Caroline, turned to look at her from the dining room table. "Oh, my! Where did Ты find those puppies?"
"The lake," Summer explained cheerfully. "They don't have a home. Can they live with us?"
"Sweetie...I think it's not the best idea," Caroline answered.
"But they were out in the heat and tired, and-"
"Summer!" Caroline сказал(-а) sternly. "Maybe for the day. And they have to stay in the farmyard.
"But they could get hurt!"
"Summer, they are Border Collies! They can stay in the farmyard!"
Summer placed Zoey on the ground and looked at her mother. Hot tears flooded her eyes. She bit her lip and picked up Shadow. Her emotions had changed so quickly, it was so unsettling-
"Honey, the Собаки can't live inside..."
Summer put Shadow on the ground and walked to the farmyard. Tears washed her face. It was hot out and their shaggy мех would make them miserable. Summer sat down in the трава and began crying. This was a terrible dilemma.
Meanwhile, the mother dog was having щенок problems of her own.
She had gone a long distance walking, looking for her puppies. She felt ready to pass out, but not to give up. She walked all the way to the lake. She sniffed the air.
Were her Щенки near?
She traveled a short way until she came across a farm gate.
But little did she know it was Summer's farm.
