The Original Fiction Mary Sue Test 

If you're planning to write a fiction/novel/whatever, then you should try putting your characters to the test. Who knows? It could probably help you in the long run.

I basically always put my characters through that test. I mean, I'm not bothered when they have some things in common with a Mary Sue, but it's good to know they don't hit TOO many points ^^

I used it to check if a certain Bella Swan was a Mary Sue...

My characters a little bit Mary sue but I can live with that.

She's slightly Sue, but some of the ones I checked off are iffy... for example, she does have my dream job, but that job is caring for dragons, so I'm not sure if that counts. Also, with her powers, everyone significant in the story has them (except one person, but that's a different story). As for having a strange marking, do scars all over her body count? And yes, they do detract from her appearance. So I'm not sure... I'd say she is a bit of a Sue, but not completely. I'll give it work.

Out of my twelve characters, two got -8, one got -7, one got -6, three got -5, one got -4, one got -3, one got -2, and two got 3.

So I guess I did well with them. (:

Haha! My character got a 2. Her score was a two! Lovely. That makes me feel good. Now, I have to check with others.

hmmm... well my character got 13, although he was a character from a legend. Since most of the questions didn't apply to him anyway (I didn't make up the name in the forst place, he is an ordinary human boy etc) I don't think there is any way he could be a Mary Sue. I'm not quite sure what a Mary Sue is actually. And I just did another who got 9. I'm quite pleased. :)

my characters dont score very well, but I dont take it offensively. i dont think my characters are just like otehr characters, so im okay with it being a 'mary sue'. these tyes of things arent always right

Hey, JoweSparrow, I took the quiz for Bella too! In my case, she scored 145!

I got a 44, but I think my character is just fine. He may need some work but I don't think I have a very bad Mary Sue problem. He is far from perfect just like everyone else. And that's good enough for me. Besides, without at least some of the Mary Sue traits, you wouldn't have a good character at all because he has nothing cool about him and he wouldn't do anything.

I got 66 for my fanfiction character, the sad thing is, i was trying to make her as anti-sue as possible, i guess i gotta try a little harder

The highest score I can get (by picking almost everything, not testing a real character, those get pretty low score) is 518. XD

i got a 20! I'm so mad at myself! I tried so hard to be original!!! T-T

My character got a 10, but certain things shouldn't count since he's from the future...
