Nirambo hails from the same tribe as the Hungan, presumably he acted there as the shaman who served under the Hungan and Storm when they had power over it. However, his loyalties lay еще with Storm and her family, and he came to warn her about the Hungan's attack.
His initial efforts failed, but he was able to lead the X-Men to retrieve her afterwards. Since then he likely returned to his homeland.
