The sound of footsteps was getting louder. He strained to gain control of his breathing, his fear spurring him faster. But he tripped and they were soon on him. He curled into a ball, forcing his mind on calling for help rather than the pain. But after a small whimper, he was quickly silenced with a kick to the throat. Tears burned his eyes and he heard their mocking voices ring in his ears.
“Freak!”
“Cry baby!”
“Go somewhere else!”
“No one wants Ты here!”
“Now Ты know why Ты don't have parents!”
The tears finally escaped and they laughed. His body was jarred with every beating and he lay there, Холодное сердце and trapped like that first night. Then it suddenly stopped. After a fearful minute, he opened his eyes. The kids that had been torturing the poor boy were Холодное сердце in awe and fear. A boy stood there, фиолетовый hair hanging in his light purple eyes that were sure to darken as he grew. He had snapped one of the sticks in half and was glaring. A rock was carelessly thrown up and down in his hand.
“You want to beat someone?”
Little black wings appeared from behind him.
“Play with an Энджел from Hell.”
The kids all ran away, crying and screaming, leaving the trampled boy to fend for himself. The older boy pushed the hair from his eyes and stepped forward. The younger scurried backwards, into a дерево trunk. His little blue eyes wide with fear and tears stayed on the other.
“Hey calm down. I won't hurt you.”
He knelt down and examined the boy's bruising body.
“Tch. Humans are so cruel.”
“A-are Ты really an angel..?”
The older boy smirked softly at him.
“Maybe. I don't really know myself.”
His hand gently touched the beaten boy's face, the latter of the two shivering with fear.
“What's your name?”
“D-Dylan.”
“Where are your parents?”
“I-I don't have any.”
“Why not?”
“N-no one wants me..”
The brokenness in the child's voice caused the other to draw him close. Dylan stiffened, expecting some form of harshness. But the boy just held him until he relaxed. Then the tears started. Never had he experienced something as gentle as this. His broken little сердце burst and he wept into the other's shoulder, clinging tightly to him. The other just drew him closer, somehow standing with the boy now in his arms. It was then that he noticed the ears and tail.
A neko? Well that explains a lot. I should bring him back with me. Despite the reputation I have....I can't just leave him here.
The other boy silently debated what to do and then made up his mind. He spread his dark wings and flew the way the others had run when he'd threatened them. He had a way of getting what he wanted. And right now he had made up his mind to protect the baby kitten now asleep in his arms.
