9:01 CET December 14

"Why do we have to go shopping?" Wally whined.

"Because I want to." Artemis said. She hissed at him "We're supposed to be undercover!"

"A guy shopping is not undercover. Besides, why can't we be undercover at the comic store?"

Artemis rolled her eyes. She had basically had to drag Wally out into the market. Ever since he had been complaining about having to go shopping, and why he couldn't go to the comic store. Honestly he sounded like a little boy. Artemis had told him, countless times. It only bought her quiet for a минута или two.

"Because we are American and can't read Italian, second-"

Artemis punched him in the face.

"For the last time." she said, getting in his face and whispering in a deadly voice. "I. Did. Not. Shove. Red. Arrow. Off. The. Team."

Wally glared at her, and her back. Robin's voice chanted in their minds "Make out! Make out!"

"Shut up Rob!" Wally said, then covered his mouth. "Oops, was that out loud."

"Yes, Kid Genius." Artemis said.

"You know what? Fine. I'll do what Ты want now, but after lunch, we're doing what I want."

"This isn't vacation!"

"Yeah, I know. This is a mission."

"You don't have to be so loud about this!" Artemis said.

"Well Ты don't get to choose everywhere we go undercover!"

"Well I'm obviously smarter than Ты are!"

"Am not!"

"Am Too!"

"Am not!

"Am too!"

"Am not!"

"Shut up, Baywatch!"

"Stop calling me that!"

"You're making a scene."

"No Ты are!"

"I'm not yelling."

"Neither am I." Wally said, his voice dropping to a whisper.

"Now," Artemis сказал(-а) smugly.

"Oh, go dunk your head in a pot of acid!"

"Why Ты little-!" 

"You're making a scene." Wally said, intimidating Artemis.

Artemis glared at him for a moment then stomped off.


Watchtower
12:13 EDT December 14

Бэтмен sealed the door. He walked to his seat. It was the Justice League's Meeting Room. Only the seven founding members were allowed inside.

"What's the problem Batman?" Супермен asked.

"She's attracting too much attention. She got Red Tornado botnapped, Atlantis attacked,she has attracted the League of Shadows attention, the Список goes on and on of how many super-villains she has attracted. She endangers the lives of the Team. I want her off." Бэтмен said.

"She deserves a секунда chance, Batman." Супермен said.

"At the expense of the other's safety?"

"No, but we can't punish her for the actions of her family."

"I'm not suggesting that. I'm suggesting she Присоединиться the Justice League. It keeps her out of the way, and if it attracts any super-villains, we can handle them."

"I don't like it." Aquaman said. "I do believe that because of Aqualad's connections with the girl-"

"Artemis."

"-with Artemis, that was why Atlantis was attacked."

"Are Ты sure it wasn't his connection with Black Manta? He's been working for the Shadows recently."

"This proves nothing!" Супермен said."We need to keep her on the Team! She's a vital piece of the puzzle."

"Let's put it to a vote." Wonder Woman said.

"All in favor?" Супермен asked, raising his hand.

"All opposed?" Бэтмен said, raising his hand.

"It's settled then." Супермен said.


Rome, Italy
11:23 CET December 14

Artemis picked up a tank вверх and looked at it. It was a bright yellow. She made an ugly face and picked up another one. She went through a rack looking for a dark green. She couldn't find one. She placed something on the underside of the hangar before re-joining Wally.

"Ugh!" Wally groaned. "Are we ever going to get done? I'm hungry!"

"You're always hungry!" Artemis said. "Besides, I just put cameras and sound boxes on everywhere I go so we'll know if anything suspicious happens."

"I suppose that came with your personal hotel room Ты brought from the cave?"

"Funny." she said. Something caught her eye and she walked over to it. It was an arrow. A Red Arrow. It was sticking out of the brick wall.

"Hey, Wally. Come look at this."

No response.

"Wally, come look. I think it's Roy's arrow."

Still no response.

"Stop pouting like a little-" Artemis said, turning around, but Wally wasn't there.

'Oh great.' Artemis said. She looked around for him. He was nowhere. Now her partner was gone. Artemis was already planning what she was going to do to him when she got her hands on him. She had totally Остаться в живых her partner on an undercover mission on the other side of the world.

Artemis was about to contact the Team when it finally occurred to her where Wally would be.

She ran down the street. She arrived at a small store which she knew had to be the comic book store. She walked inside. A guy greeted her wanting to know if she needed anything in Italian. She replied no in the same language, and went on.

Wally was in the back of the store Чтение a comic book.

"It's about time." Wally said.

"You can't just run off like that!"

"Can! I am of the physical capability to run off!"

"Ooh! Do NOT twist my words."

Wally shrugged. 

"Why would Ты care if I ran off?" Wally asked.

"Because Ты worried me!"

Wally looked up. "And you're worried why?"

"Because imagine what could happen!"

"Nah, rather not." Wally said. "Besides, are Ты sure it isn't because Ты can't get enough of me?"

"Why Ты little son of a-"

The world burst into flames. Wally saw it first, the world slowing down as the cash register exploded. He jumped over Artemis, shielding her with his body.
