Nagato (長門), better known as Pain (ペイン, Pein), was the recognized leader of Акацуки and Amegakure and was a major antagonist in the series. Referred to as "Leader" by all Акацуки members except for Konan, who referred to him by his name, he directed the actions of the rest of the members and maintained authority over them. However, he took orders from Tobi,[1] who was actually Madara Uchiha, the benefactor of Akatsuki.

Nagato as a child.

During the war in Amegakure, two Konoha shinobi broke into Nagato's house looking for Еда thinking that the house had been abandoned....
