I'm not sure. I don't really know what Vocaloids are, because it's music, but there are animated characters for it, but no show. I don't really understand it.

There is nothing to debate. "Vocaloid" is not an anime and the Vocaloids are not anime characters. They technically can't even be categorized as "characters" since they don't have any personalities. It's the fans who decide if they consider (i.e.) Miku as a diva or as a sweetheart.
There should be a Vocaloid anime, but unfortunately, there isn't. Until SEGA and Crypton create a Vocaloid anime with Miku and the others in it, the Vocaloids can't be considered as anime characters.

people tend to mix them up, and a lot says that vocaloids are anime. you can search it up and a lot comes up
