Bella Thorne checks into \'Red Band Society\'; MTV orders \'Scream\' to series

- Bella Thorne is checking into  "Red Band Society." The former "Shake It Up!" star will guest on an episode as pop star Delaney Shaw, who is admitted to the hospital for exhaustion. Recuperating isn\'t all she\'ll be up to, as Shaw will be getting extra friendly with two of Ocean Park\'s familiar male patients. [ E! Online]

- MTV\'s has ordered its "Scream" adaptation to series, giving the first season a full 10 episodes. Despite not having rights to the movie\'s Ghostface mask, the network says fans can expect the slasher series to premiere in October 2015.

- Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are producing a supernatural pilot for FOX. The Academy Award winners are teaming up with "30 Rock" writer-producer Colleen McGuinness for the single-camera comedy about a 25-year-old woman working in a yogurt shop. Her life seems to be going nowhere until she discovers that she is telekinetic. [ Deadline] 

- "The Daily Show" correspondent Jason Jones has landed a starring role in a semi-autobiographical comedy pilot for TBS. Jones will also be writing the script with his wife and "Daily Show" co-star Samantha Bee about their married life and family adventures. 

- There\'s going to be a lot of people shaking it off this New Year\'s Eve. Taylor Swift is set to ring in 2015 with several of her hit songs when she headlines "Dick Clark\'s New Year\'s Rockin\' Eve With Ryan Seacrest." The annual broadcast will begin live Wednesday, Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. [ The Hollywood Reporter]

- "Grey\'s Anatomy" alum Sanrda Oh is going to Indiegogo to fund a new animated film project. Oh will be one of the voices in the Canadian film and produce alongside Ann Marie Fleming. The film is a coming of age story about Rosie Ming, a young Canadian poet of Chinese-Persian heritage who travels to Iran to perform in a poetry festival. [ The Hollywood Reporter]

- The Sarah Jessica Parker-produced AOL Originals webseries "city.ballet" premieres its second season on Tuesday, (Nov. 4. The show follows the dancers and choreographers at the New York City Ballet, and all 12 episodes will be available at once.  Watch here.
