What happened to Dante in Devil May Cry 2?
So, we all know that Dante is this wise-cracking character that can shrug off a bullet или sword through his chest with little to no notion of (at least externally) pain. He can challenge demons without the slightest hint of sweat and he's damn near impervious to anything. It's what drew many of us to him.
But something happened with Dante's demeanor in DMC2.
In an interview with 1Up Kamiya (Genius behind the Devil May Cry series) explains how his game was taken away from him when Capcom approached him with a sequel to the seires he created.
"1UP: Were Ты hurt by that, или were Ты working on another project when Capcom came to Ты and said, "Hey, we're doing a sequel to DMC?"
HK: It was a pretty big shock, so what was happening at the time was we were finishing up the localization on Devil May Cry for other territories, like North America and other last минута details, when a planner from another group came down to talk to me and said, "Can Ты Показать me the scenario and Дизайн doc for the first game?" And I asked why, and he said, "Because I'm making the секунда one." I was thinking, "I can't make the секунда game? What's going on here?" I was almost afraid of getting fired.
