My opinion, Tiana couldn't pursue her dreams due to the fact that she was suffering from racist counterparts, her father (whom she loved so dearly) is not with her, she gets no sleep and works endlessly, and her friend constantly tries to get attention from her.

Rapunzel, though subtly abused psychologically, had a seemingly loving mother, got presents every time Gothel left, had a friend she played with, and could do anything in her large tower. Like get me some of dat wifi and a computer and RAPUNZEL I WANT TO BE YOU.
