^Aladdin's story is called "Aladdin's Wonderful Lamp" it's from the book of Arabian Nights, which contains many Middle Eastern folk tales and fairy tales.

All of them are cool, but I seriously can't believe Disney found this one, I agree with Mongoose, it's okay but Disney made it better.

TigerRanma picked Der Froschkönig (The Frog Prince) German Folk Tale:
The only one I read was Beauty and the Beast and that got out. Oh wait, I actually did read a version of The Little Mermaid where it happened that way, the prince falling for another woman. I was confused about what happened to the mermaid at the end but wondered if she died.

I've also read the Snow White one that had to do with the number of ways the witch tried to kill her, including the poisoned comb. You'd think Snow White would learn not to talk to strangers while all these "salespeople" kept trying to kill her.

Aww, poor Pocahontas. I had a book about that too and I remember her being a kid, marrying John Rolfe, going to England and being baptized with the name Rebecca. But I don't think the book I had mentioned the bad stuff. It showed her saving John Smith and of course there was no romance between them.

And there's rape in the original Sleeping Beauty? *reads about it in wikipedia* Wow, I guess he does rape her. And she gives birth to his kids in her sleep? And one of the children sucks her finger and draws out a piece of the flax that put her to sleep, which woke her? The hell? Craziness.

I still vote for The Frog Prince. There's just not that much to it.

I've read all but Aladdin, The Ballad of Wei Mulan and the version of Cinderella with the stepsisters marrying the two Lords.

I had heard of the Aladdin version but never was interested.
