Why is gangnam style the video so popular/funny?

well my opinion of why it's funny & Популярное is because if Ты think about it how many Korean singers do Ты know that are actually famous in the US? And along with that there isn't really any other video like it. PSY's Gangnam Style video has a billion Просмотры on YouTube (this I have checked) He has become "popular" because he did what no one else tried
