Harry would not be Harry if he was sorted into Slytherin, so I think yes, he'd definitely be very different. He'd have accepted Draco's hand in their first год and thus he'd be friending up with the Death Eater kids league. However, things would go wrong because Voldemort would still wanna kill him if we follow the character background Dumbledore drew us - that is he acts alone, he won't share power, he fears death, he's obsessed with the prophecy. The fellow Slytherins, however, should not necessarily want to save him which would of course mean Harry's death quite early in the story. So to my mind, JK was right to sort Harry into Gryffindor, although otherwise would have meant a much deeper and complex story.

Harry would be very different if he was sorted into Slytherin, because he would have bad influences surrounding him, and who knows if he could have resisted?

i think he could have resisted cuz he doesnt seem the type to let outside influence him in who hangs out with...remember his reaction to draco to ditch ron and hermione?? i dont see slytherin itself a bad thing...just the people like voldemort, snape and even wormtail who was a gryffindor could have been a slytherin but it was their choices that lead them to be who they are and fall in the wrong crowd...

i completely disagree with Ты both. At such a young age as 11(when he entered) he would have been VERY susceptible to the bad influences around him.

it did say in the book that the reason he was fit to possess the Deathly Hallows was because he had never succumbed to the dark arts. So i doubt it would make much difference

Indead, I do think Harry would be very differant if sorted in Slytherin. First off, he would not be enemies with Draco Moalfoy, but friends. Second, if he was sorted in Slytherin, he would not try to stop (and eventually kill) Voldemort, but maybe (I shudder to think of this), but have became a Death Eater. He would not be best Друзья with Ron and Hermione. On the contrary, they would be worst enemies.

He wouln't have battled Quirrel in book 1, wouln't have gone to save Ginny Weasley in the chamber of secrets, his name wouldnt have been placed in the goblet of fire, wouln't have battled Voldemort and the rest of the Death Eaters at the Ministry of Magic, would't have gone with Dumbledore to find Voldemorts locket horcrux (probably wouln't have even like Dumbledore) and wouldn't have gone on a wild гусь chase for the rest of Volemorts horcruxes.

In the 1st book, on the train, if Harry shook Dracos hand, the whole story wouldve changed. As Ты see above, that is how much Harry's life wouldve been differant.

I think he would be very lonely. Draco would be like "Oooh, too late Potter. You've just been burn'd." (Ok, not exactly like that, but Ты know what I mean). Ron might be a bit scared of him или something if he was sorted into Slytherin. And obviously they weren't Друзья with Hermione yet.

Maybe he'd try and make Друзья with Blaise Zabini. But I think he'd be very miserable. He wouldn't turn bad или evil или become a Death Eater, because Harry isn't like that. He'd just keep to himself.

I don't think there would be a great difference in his character if he was sorted in Slytherin. He would be еще affected if his parents were alive, meaning that he would be happier, without many problems and would probably be еще like his father. That would also make it еще likely to get sorted in Slytherin and act еще like them.

Yes I think so. Because they focus on & try to cultivate different aspects of personality depending on what house you're in. Harry would have been encouraged to manipulate, lie, cheat, look out for himself first & foremost...and so on. And since he was only 11 when he would have been being fed that stuff he would have most definitely picked it up. Plus he would have different friends...probably Malfoy.

I probably think so. If Harry Potter was sorted into Slytherin it would be because of his ambiton for power. He would have succumbed to the part of him that was Voldemort's. I think it's Harry's strong will power and determination (not to mention love) that kept him unwaveringly on the path to good.
In the end it was ultimately up to Harry. "We both have the light and the dark inside us. It's the part which we choose to act on that makes us ourselves".
But I'm not trying to sound biased. Slytherin doesn't mean bad. I mean look at Severus Snape. He was one of the bravest men in the series. Also Regulus Black is a notable Slyhterin character.
Anyways, I think yes. Harry would have changed if he was sorted into Slytherin.

No. Harry's biggest power is to stay in himself. Whatever happens,he is strong and determined. If inspite of sharing one mind with the strong and terrifying Dark Lord,he can manage to hold himself against the dark side, then what chance does small Slytherin kids stand when it comes to changing Harry Potter's nature? But I must say that Harry wouldn't even have half as fun that he had being in Gryffindor. He would miss Ron,Hermione and other Weasleys' company and not to mention he would have to медведь еще taunts of Malfoy and Snape.Malfoy might have been a bit better with Harry in Slytherin, but Snape with his old grudge would be even еще harsh to Harry,as he would get еще chances of giving detentions, being the head of the house.

There would only be one reason for Harry to go to Slytherin - the darkness inside of him - even before (much before) he gone to Hogwarts, a flaming darkness taht extinguish every single kindness inside of him.So, yes, it would be completely different. He would become evil since the beginning, hating everyone around him even the slytherins, in the end of the 1st year, he would help Voldemort, and the prophecy would be "The boy-who-lived and the Dark-Lord shall Присоединиться taking over the wizardry World", Harry would help Voldemort killing Dumbledore, and would be seen as "almost" Voldemort's son. And eventually Harry would become the most powerful and evil wizard after Voldemort.

I feel that it would not change him to much, it would definitely have some sort of effect. He would still hate Draco and all the other Slytherin's in his year. But not all slytherins are evil. He might befriend an older student или one from Ravenclaw или Hufflepuff. He would proably Показать еще cunning than chivalry . But he would still have the same personality for the most part.

I think that if he joined the Slytherin, he would become a great sorcerer but would eventually want so much power that he would become bad. There may be the chance that in his lust for power he would try and kill Voldemort. In case he succeeds he would've become the greatest sorcerer of all time and maybe the wickedest.

I think it would have еще of an effect on the story than on Harry himself. It's еще likely that Harry would not be thinking "not Slytherin" because he hadn't heard of that House's negative reputation than because he'd lack the courage to Вопрос the Hat's decision. So Harry would still fundamentally be the same person.

I doubt any friendship with Ron или Hermione would develop. So he'd lose their help throughout the story. I can't really see Draco taking their place - I think they'd still have a rivalry within the same House.
