 JB Andrew (Andy)
JB Andrew (Andy)
This is the story of a wild мустанг who was captured, tamed and became a successful competitor in dressage, one of the most refined of all equestrian sports.

Andy grew up in Nevada, in the wild mountains and deserts. He was a big жеребенок, кольт for a wild horse, but early in this century, farmers who were switching to tractors had turned out their draft horses, and undoubtedly some of these Лошади were in his family background. The Bureau of Land Management watches over American's wild Лошади and when there are too many in an area and there is not enough Еда and water for them all, they gather up some...

- horse knee = human wrist, horse stifle = human knee, and horse hock = human heel

- a horse uses a liter of oxygen a минута when walking, and almost 60 liters of oxygen per минута when galloping

- Лошади use 10 percent less energy standing up than they do lying down.

- when people groom Лошади and ponies in the areas where Лошади "groom" each other (the neck, back, and shoulders), their сердце rate decreases by about 11 percent.

- Xenphon (circa 430-355 BC), a general and historian from Greece, wrote a book about riding and training Лошади which described procedures still used today.

- Лошади and...

This is a real story and a real horse hero.

In Greenup county, Kentucky, Robert Denlinger has a farm down by the Tygarts River. He raises sheep, and works his land with Percheron draft Лошади instead of tractors. He has кувас, kuvasz livestock guard Собаки to help him on the right and when he has time, he gentles horses, especially wild horses.

His big Percheron mare Rosie had a filly named Phoebe. One день after a terrible storm, when the ground was muddy and slippery, Phoebe slipped and fell into the river. Rosie didn't hesitate -- she jumped over a ten foot bank into the river. It was so deep she had...

DREAM HORSE
By: Grace Edwards

A wonderful horse, waiting for me
As beautiful as Лошади can be
A chestnut, red as Mars
When she jumps up, she hits the stars

A deep brown eye, like jarrah wood
When I give her aids, she does what she should
This horse is the only one for me
I'll ride her from Queensland to Northern Territory

This horse and I, when we meet first
I will ride her for all I'm worth
She'll gallop so fast, it really is frightening
This horse goes by the name of Lightning

First True Love
Apprehensive I came down to you,

Slipped your недоуздок, бретель через шею o'er ears so tall

You gobbled up your treat, I slipped the billet...

I was my boarding schools Chrismas party. It was awesome until my friend Ally introduced me to her. Sabrina Taylor. The unbeliever. In horses, that is. Im an equestrian, and everyone knows that I would rather die of a bad fall than of old age. Of course, if I die of old age that would give me еще time to ride, but I'll be old and unable to.

"Hey Ally" I сказал(-а) walking up to my friend.

"Hey Lea.". He grinned back. "This is my friend Sabrina. Sabrina Lea." We shook hands. She looked me up and down and frowned.

"I have heard your name before, Ты were on some knd of event." She tapped her chin....

Horse, large land mammal notable for its speed, strength, and endurance. Лошади are members of the Equidae family, which also includes zebras and asses. Like all equids, the horse is extremely well adapted to traveling long distances with great efficiency and to surviving on a diet of nutrient-poor, high-fiber grasses. The horse is an intensely social animal, forming strong associations with members of its herd and possessing a keen ability to recognize subtle social cues. These instinctive behaviors form the basis of the horse’s ability to bond with and obey a human trainer.

The horse’s...

 This is Lady.
This is Lady.
One day, Shannon and Kayli came Главная from school and ran out through the сарай to the corral to be with their two horses, Max, a quarter horse gelding, and Lady, a shetland пони mare. Shannon and Kayli's mother Lea came with them. As Lea came out of the barn, she saw a neighbor's dog just outside the corral, its head down and growling at her two girls. She ran over to them.

Suddenly, the dog darted under the fence and ran at the two girls, barking loudly. Max and Lady immediately started after the dog and chased it, as Shannon and Kayli and their mother stood together, frightened. Max chased...

When we think of Indians we picture a warrior with a spear или bow and Стрела sitting on a horse. But, the Indians did not always have horses. In fact, they did not always have bows and arrows, but that is a different story. This page is about Лошади and Indians.

The Indians got their first Лошади from the Spanish. When the Spanish explorers Coronado and DeSoto came into America they brought Лошади with them. This was in the год of 1540. Some Лошади got away and went wild. But, the Indians did not seem to have done much with these wild horses. They did not start to ride или use Лошади until much...

How often horse-related injuries happen:

•About 70,000 people go to the emergency room each год for equestrian-related injuries. About 12,000 of those people have suffered head injuries.

•Horseback riders have the same number of injury accidents per riding час as motorcycle riders.

Who gets injured:

•All riding disciplines have a significant rate of head injuries.

•Unpredictable riding events — a horse spooking, bucking, или bolting — account for most head injuries, but...

(Adrianne's POV)

"Do Ты wanna go ride?" I asked Nicole. She was staying over for the last день of summer. She keeps her horse with me, because she doesn't live on a farm.

"Sure!" She answered excitedly. We Любовь to ride Лошади when we have free time. Draw and ride horses. It was our life!

We ran to the сарай and got our horses. We tied them up and brushed them.

In 2004, there were many animal abuse and neglect crimes in America. One of the most appalling, happened in Texas.

Animals Cops had heard complaints of animal cruelty toward a horse. So the Animal Cops went to this house to see what was going on. They found this helpless horse tied to a fence and standing in feces. The horse's owner came out of the house and talked to the Animal Cops. The horse's owner сказал(-а) that he was not eating and that he had taken him to the vet and nothing was wrong. The Храбрая сердцем Animal Cops realized that this could not have been true because this poor creature did not have...

I don't know what happened to him at the Belmont, but there is one possible theory. Before the race the commentary was made that Big Brown had been getting a legal shot of steroids once a month. The owner stated that he wanted everyone to see that he could win the race without the shot. This is his first race without the shot, perhaps this might have affected his performance. Just a theory. However, the temperature was a steamy 93 degrees, I can't imagine running a mile and half in that kind of heat. He was also fitted with a new pair of custom glue-on shoes, don't know how much affect this could have had on his surefootedness.
