I relate to her in a lot of ways, with her inability to trust, and protectiveness of her family.

Katniss is amazing, but I would have to say that Peeta is my favorite character.

Katniss is great, and like VMars4ever says, I relate to her with her inability to trust, and her fierce determination to succeed in everything she does. I like Gale a lot, though :)

For sure, can't stand Peeta, why didn't Finnick just let him die in Catching Fire?!, she's strong, loyal and cares about her family and friends which is a lot more than most of the current female "heroines" in tv/movies

OH i love so many but its so hard to choose! katniss i great. i love her determination, but i love peeta's kindness, and haymitch is smart is his own way. why do they all have to be so great?!

in a lot of ways i am like katniss i would do anything to protect my sister, even volunteer for the games, i am a skilled hunter, and i am soooooo many more, and if i didnt like peeta or he wasnt involed in the series (IMPOSSIBLE) katniss would be my favorite

Absolutely. Out of all my favourite female characters of all time, Katniss comes 2nd.
First being Rose Hathaway. How could you not love Katniss? She is so bad ass, she demands respect. I love a female character that can fight and is extremely independent.
