In my story the reason that Ichigo feels so close to Orihime is that Jamie (Kura's) son promised to protect his sister in a different time period. I'm not sure how I will deal with this part either he will have failed или succeeded in protecting his sister. Yet the promise to protect his sibling has followed his ancestors line up to Ichigo.
