In the early part of the series, Leland didn't give Monk any respect. In later seasons he did. I missed the transition. What happened to make Leland so 'pro-Monk'?
I think it might have been around season 2 episode 14 "Mr. Monk and the Captain's Wife". When Karen Stottlemeyer was in that really bad car wreck. But it could just possibly be the way that the writers wanted to see them.
But around the time of that episode is when they start to get close again. Hope that helps!!

i think he was pro-monk because of what happended to monk after trudy died, he knew the man has a nervous breakdown, and as far as the capt was concerned he couldn't be trusted to do anything, for the simple fact that he was not doing his job right after he Остаться в живых her
actually, it was a gradual transition that made captain start to respect Monk. Case after case of Monk solving cases that Leland would get credit for made him start to realize that he deserved еще kudos than he was giving him.
