It’s no secret that relationships are one of the most talked about aspects of Pretty Little Liars. And if you’re on Twitter, then you know firsthand that PLL fans are hardcore shippers; opinions are expressed and gauntlets are thrown about which ship is the best.

While there is no “best ” ship (other than the friendship between the girls), there are many good ones to chat about. For example? Emily Fields (Shay Mitchell) and Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse)! Though they aren’t necessarily a defined couple on Pretty Little Liars, Emily and Ali have captured hearts since their initial interactions, and the Emison Army has been going strong for years!

waiting. As said above, on PLL, Emison is not technically together, but this does not keep the fans from waiting and hoping for change. Ever since that pivotal first kiss in the Rosewood library, sparks between Emily and Alison were ignited and the flames haven’t burned out.

2.) Emily’s hallucinating state after being dragged out of a barn in Season 2, Episode 12, “Over My Dead Body” is a memory Emison fans won’t easily forget. Alison’s words to Emily made Emison fans all over the world squeal with glee: “I never told you this but you were always my favorite. Nobody loved me as much as you did.” Emison fans never thought Emily being poisoned by carbon monoxide would turn out to be sort of a

good thing. And even if you don’t ship Emison, having Alison even in a flashback can always turn out to be a crucial clue.

3.) True shippers stand strong even when half of their ship is, well,

dead. Remember all those years when the girls believed Alison was dead? Turns out she wasn’t actually dead, but had disappeared on her own. Emison shippers stood strong and continued to have hope that one day Ali would return to Rosewood. Ask Marlene King, and you shall receive.

4.) “Friends share secrets. That’s what keeps us close.” Secrets actually did keep Alison and Emily very close. Alison knew that Emily was actually attracted to other girls, but she didn’t spill the news to the other Liars. If Alison hadn’t tortured Emily with her secret, then it would actually be kind of sweet that she let Emily come out on her own. We’re still giving you some props, Alison.

Great Expectations, and only one thing will come to mind: that day in the Rosewood library. “I loved her against reason, against promise… against peace, against hope, against happiness… against all discouragement that could be” are the words Alison read to Emily in a flashback in Season 1, Episode 9.

6.) Oh, if Kissing Rock could talk. In Season 1, Episode 8, “Please, Do Talk About Me When I’m Gone,” Alison asked Emily who she would take to this place where people had gone to kiss for hundreds of years. I’m sure that Emsion fans are hoping for a flashback showing Alison and Emily running off to Kissing Rock.

7.) Love letters tug at Emison fans’ heart strings like nothing else. In “The Perfect Storm,” Emily finds a old letter she’d written to Alison the summer she went missing. “A” had planted this evidence to mess with Emily, but all it did was give hope of what might have been had Alison not disappeared.

8.) Snow globes are the best gifts…and clues. In PLL Season 1, Episode 21, “Monsters in the End,” Emily had a flashback to when Alison gave her a snow globe and hinted that it was more special than Emily would understand at the time. Eventually, Emily discovered a key that unlocked a storage room housing the NAT Club videos of Alison and the Liars.

9.) Cherry Chapstick is actually the best kind of Chapstick. Personally, I believe Alison keeps that in her pocket just in case there is a perfect moment. In PLL Season 2, Episode 13, “The First Secret,” Alison alludes to Emily’s preference for girls due to her longing stares at new girl, Jenna Marshall. In response to her stares, Alison tells Emily, “don’t worry, Em. Your secret is safe with me.” Some people think this is a stab at Emily, but Emison fans know it was just an expression of jealousy and an excuse for Alison to get close to Emily.

10.) Paris is Emison’s final destination and now yours as well. Emily left a postcard from Paris in Alison’s casket and this cherished memory somehow ended up at the Rosewood Police Station. Flashback: as Emily and Alison talk about a trip to France and look at the postcard, their fingers touch and Ali describes to Emily how nice she would look atop the Eiffel Tower. “You and me in sweet Paris…How about forever?” (Season 3, Episode 18 – “Dead to Me”)

11.) Alison’s methods of torture are usually for personal satisfaction, but one in particular could actually mean something a little bit more. In Season 3, Episode 11 “Single Fright Female,” fingers are pointing at Paige as “A” suspect, and flashbacks are revealing perhaps a little bit of jealousy in Alison when it comes to Emily. In a flashback with CeCe Drake and Alison on one of their escapades, Alison wrote Paige a fake love letter from Emily and told her to respond and hide it in a specific location in town. When Alison approaches Paige and threatens to show the letter to her father, Paige demands the letter back and Ali’s is sure she scared her away for good. Is this because you want Emily all for yourself, Alison? It’s OK to admit it.

12.) Even Jessica DiLaurentis is aboard the Emison ship! “You loved her as much as I did. I wish that Ali could’ve returned those feelings. I couldn’t have asked for a better person to love her than you.” (Season 4, Episode 10 — “The Mirror Has Three Faces) Make us swoon, why dontcha?

blue nail polish. Blue nail polish is an essential Emison accessory. In Season 4, Episode 11 “Bring Down the Hoe”, Emily notices a bottle of blue nail polish on Alison’s vanity and she fades into a flashback where Alison was painting her toes. During this mani-pedi party, Alison told Emily that she should break up with Ben because she’s too good for him. Emison fans know this is because Ali wanted Emily to be single for her own benefit.

14.) “Mushy squash” is the Emison shipper motto. Alison also says this to Emily during their flashback conversation in “Bring Down the Hoe.” Trying to convince Emily to break up with her current boyfriend, Ali told her that she needed to stop taking care of everyone else and not to worry about hurting Ben because mushy squash is what’s left over on the buffet table when everyone has made their plates. Alison even offered to end the relationship for her.

15.) Sawmills can be both life-threatening and romantic. In Season 4, Episode 12 “Now You See Me, Now You Don’t,” the Liars venture to Ravenswood, and Emily disappeared during a magic act, eventually finding herself inside a coffin on a sawmill. Someone, later revealed as Alison DiLaurentis, stopped the sawmill before our beloved Emily Fields was shredded to pieces.

16.) Nothing can beat an Emison hug. During “Close Encounters” (Season 4, Episode 16), Shana Fring tells Emily that she’s been helping Alison, and when Em asks for proof, Shana leads her to an abandoned warehouse. Inside waits Alison DiLaurentis, and these two share a hug with all the feels attached.

17.) …except an Emison kiss. “Miss Me x 100″ is an Emison landmark. Not only did Emison share their first kiss since Ali’s return, but Alison also reveals to Emily that “I always made you think your feelings were totally one-sided. That wasn’t true. Those kisses weren’t just for practice.” #EmisonArmy

Their story is so interesting, I think Emily is the only person Alison’s ever loved. My favourite scene of all time in pll is the “How about forever?” one, it was adorable

What I love about Emison is the coming out story. I’m Bi-sexual and it took me 30 years to admit it to myself. I wish I had a show like this when I was younger to teach me its okay. I never thought it would be okay to love a girl. Especially because I’m attracted to men. I would always fall in love with my best friends. Which always happened to be a girl. I only dated guys but never was able to fully commit because yeah my heart belonged her already.

To me there is so much potential with Ali and Ems love story. Em’s story has already been told when she came out as a lesbian. Now I’d like to see Ali’s story. She obviously likes/loves Em. This could be epic…if done right.

Favorite scene…in the class room, supposedly studying for French, talking about Paris. When the famous Alison/Emison line is spoken “How about forever”.

Great piece, I love Emison and I hope to see more of them. My favorite scene is their reunion at the warehouse.

Like sasha say “Everything is emison” I think that they are endgame because we (emison shippers) deserve it we have waiting 5 season for that they are an official couple…but thanks to emily we don’t have that..why? because she’s with talia when she should be with Ali

Emison is endgame and we all know it. The time I get the biggest Emison feels is once I hear the song “every breath you take” by Denmark and winter and you hear Emily say “ALI ARE YOU ASLEEP?” ️OMG my heart pumps and I want to cry as I shake ..

on PLL I only care about Emison out of the ships.There is so much between them.They belong with each other.and come on they had sex In the 100th episode.The next episode basiclly confirmed it with ali’s I promise we will just sleep comment to emily.

Actually I think they had sex , as far as ali (after A- broke into her house) asked Emily if she can stay in her place, she said that they’ll just sleep
