Is a GED and a High School Diploma the SAME thing?

My brother had to get his GED since he missed a lot of school and my mom keeps saying "Oh it's the same thing" или "It's just as good"

Meanwhile I'm working my butt off to get a diploma. If there the same and a GED is just as good as a High School Diploma then I might as well just a drop out of school and get my GED when I turn 17.

It would be MUCH easier.

I just got my GED a couple days a go and I feel now that it was a lot easier than finishing high school.

If I were you, I'd stay in high school. Depending of course, if you're a junior, sophomore, etc.
