I think she wanted to be honest with herself. She felt that she loved Lon (yah, I'm sure it was one of many love's kinds!), but she couldn't forget Noah. She didn't want to have any regrets - she had to go see him to find out who she is. She also knew it's her last chance to discover her true feelings. I'm sure she wouldn't left Lon if they were married, but it's definately better to decide what Ты feel just before the final decision (=marraige) then live with some kind of regret of uncertainty until the end of your life.
Because she still loved noah that was her first Любовь and the only reason she became a nurse was to see noah and when she worked there she met lon and thats the only reason she met lon so she still loved noah even though she was engaged! <3
I think that Allie went to see Noah because she was still in Любовь with him and hoped that he might feel the same way about her. She loved him and wanted to be with him.

i dont think she had ever really gotten over noah.the reason she bacome a nurse was to hopefully see noah if he was ever injured.Yes, i think she did Любовь lon in a way ,and she finally stop beliving she would hear from noah so she accepted lons proposal.until she came across the ad in the paper ,which by the way is one part i loved!
I think she did it because she still had strong feelings for noah and wanted to see for herself how she could handle being around him again and also how he might still feel about her. she was trying to prove something in that aspect.
I think that Allie went to see Noah because she knew she would regret it if she didn't see him. Lon could never make Allie feel the way Noah made her feel.
