"This is why I do it. This is what I have to come Главная to." - snoring Jan -
They got me from the get go. Just to see Michael Scott appear on my screen again made me feel all warm inside. Yes he's back! I shout.
And then he speaks.
Warm, fuzzy feeling gone, replaced by that o so familiar cringe that I Любовь so much. The good kind of cringe that only Michael Scott can provide.
September the 27th had been marked in my calendar for... well forever it seemed. As weeks passed and The день drew closer and closer, my expectations, hopes, and speculations became еще and еще frantic and mixed.
There were two sides.
One side, my Office junky side, just wanted Office. Anyway, anyhow, some way, any day.
Speculate, predict, vote for the best episode from season 3 (boy did people get worked up over this), fanvic's, expectations. Season 4 expectations.
All fun, don't get me wrong. I merrily Присоединиться in. In the end I enjoyed the trivia and Цитаты games right here at Fanpop the most.
The other side, my rational thoughts side, said; Любовь the show, trust the show. The день is gonna come and it's gonna be good. Shut up and go back to what you're supposed to be doing. (Which is work, and believe me when I say that my workplace is a soap opera Слэш comedy in it's own right. I work back-stage in a big theatre.)
Two еще weeks to go.
One еще week to go.
Five days.
Two days. Is it going to meet my (our) expectations? Afraid that I got so carried away, developed such high hopes that it's almost unfair to the show? They might not be able to meet these high hopes. If they are all the way up on the comedy pedestal, is there no way but down?
The Day.
Finally. Fun Run was no longer some abstract light at the end of the tunnel. Fun Run became a concrete episode. THE season opener. A story with factual plots, developments, characters sprung back to life.
And I loved it. Yes it was all good.
I smiled. I cringed. I laughed. I dropped my jaw. I laughed out loud. I sighed a happy Pam and Jim sigh.
After an hour, in which to me time stood still, I slowly and contently drifted back to reality.
Back online. Check the sites.
Happy people. Instant, genuine responses to that long longed for episode. Избранное moments are shared. Spoilers are alerted. Цитаты are quoted. варенье, джем Влюбленные in love.
Office bliss.
Two days after The Day.
Early in the morning (in a very different time zone) I noticed the first careful critical notes.
People are spurred on to share, to analyze, to Дебаты and to dissect. And so they do. Комментарии are posted; "too long", "felt like two separate episodes", "not coherent", and so on and so on.
And doubts settle in my confused office Фан brain. What did I miss? Did I watch a different episode? Didn't they see Angela hit Dwight? Hit him with the back of her chair? It wasn't good? It didn't meet the expectations, speculations and hopes?
My rational side spoke again.
Watch it again, it said.
And I did.

Office bliss.
