Yes they were in love but in away if they had of kept ralph in the church then the story would of bin any good. It's such a great flim wasn't keen on the missing years it just didn't follow to 1983 mini seris. But was made up when it got the beach scene on mattlock lsland.

yes and no they're love for each other reached the far edges of time but his devotion to church defined him and wouldn't be the same without it. The forbidden love between them made it all the more pleasing.

yes.... not in the beginning, but in the end. that really isn't God's will to love each other and not beong allowed to marry... :(
