This year, box office experts have consistently underestimated how animation would perform at the box office, and Dreamworks’
proved no exception. The Mike Mitchell-directed film enjoyed a powerful $45.6 million (estimated) launch in the United States, at least $5-15 million higher than what industry observers had predicted.

two more weekends of clear sailing before the arrival of the next PG film targeting a similar audience: Disney’s

I don’t think it’s really news that Finding Dory a film that EVERYONE said was going to make a HUGE gross (like 1.5B) but didn’t beating a completely original film that NO ONE ever expected to make over one billion, much less be loved by millions and be critically acclaimed at that very news worthy.
Now let’s talk about Zootopia winning a Hollywood Film Award! The first major award of the season!
It’s only one more week until Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them comes out.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Moana hits a billion as well.
That’s pretty good! Not sure it will do amazing numbers at the box office though, especially with Moana on the horizon.
I’m surprise that the film has found it’s success, despite of it’s horrible marketing that completely spoiled the film in the trailers (Thank god I had never watched trailers at all).
