Chapter 2
Koda arrived at his uncle’s shop, parking his dirt bike behind the building and chaining it to the radiator. The sun was already high in the sky; beating down its unforgiving rays of heat down on him but the extreme heat never bothered him as it seemed his body was never affected by the sun.
His skin would repel the rays like a duck’s feathers would repel the water.
Inside he could hear his uncle yelling something at one of the mechanics; apparently he came into work late…and a few hours barely sober.
Probably Jax, that guy never knows when to stop, Koda thought smiling.
Jax was one of the reasons for Koda’s family to be against him working for his uncle: еще bad influence. As he walked inside the Магазин his uncle took a quick glance at him and then went back to chewing out than none other…Jax who was definitely barely sober.
About 6 foot, Jax was lanky but strong with broad shoulders and a short neck that made him appear shorter than he was.
Koda walked over to his locker but before he could open it his uncle suddenly appeared behind him. “Didn’t I tell Ты that Ты weren’t supposed work in the mornings?” he сказал(-а) with his weathered stern face.
Uncle Achack was a small guy, same height as Koda was but his attitude made him bigger than he was. Both arms were skinny but were covered in Татуировки of various images, mostly skulls and demons, many of them he had gotten in prison many years назад when he was a ‘punk’ as he called himself. He was arrested for attempted robbery and assault on a police officer who tried to catch him as he tried to outrun him.
Today, though, he makes several acts on trying to forget his past crimes and makes an effort to be a positive influence on his young nephew—which has failed in many ways to Achack’s annoyance.
“I thought I сказал(-а) for Ты to work here after school not before it, remember last год Ты failed the 7th grade because Ты spent еще time here.”
“I know, but it’s still early, school doesn’t start for another hour,” Koda tried to protest.
“Sure, but you’ll forget about it, be late…again and do Ты know what happens after that?”
“I won’t work here anymore,” he answered looking down on the floor like a little kid who just got in trouble.
“Right, now get.”
Every time he would get in trouble with his uncle, he always felt like a whooped dog afterwards but at least he hasn’t lectured him on the ‘family pride’ topic. Koda figured it was his rebel attitude that kept him from it—or he just didn’t care.
He unlocked his bike, dreading school but at least it gave him an opportunity to stay away from home. As he began to start the bike he heard someone call his name.
“Koda!” a voice yelled.
He turned his head to see who it was.
It was Jax.
Turning off his bike he yelled back,
“What?”
“Your birthday is coming up right?” he asked.
“Yeah,”
He wondered why Jax was asking him about his birthday. They weren’t exactly Друзья so he didn’t think that Jax would give him a birthday gift или something.
“I’ve been working for your uncle awhile and I know the whole tradition of your “spiritual quest”….
Koda groaned to himself.
“And Ты shouldn’t do it.”
Koda’s eyes went big.
Not do it?
“Huh?”
“Last night, I got drunk and ended up passing out in my truck but I had the weirdest dream that involved you.
I don’t know, but I dreamt that Ты had some weird psychotic break in the desert and when Ты came back home…”
He stopped in mid-sentence; apparently he was nervous to say what happened in his dream.]
“What? What did I do?” Koda asked with a chuckle.
“You murdered your family.”
Koda just stared at Jax with surprise and then burst out laughing.
“Jax are Ты an idiot?! Ты were drunk, how can Ты take a drunken dream seriously?”
“I’ve never had a dream that involved Ты before that’s why!”
“Look, I’m not going to kill my family, in fact I wasn’t even planning on doing this stupid quest. I may be a pain in the жопа, попка but I’m not evil!”
Koda started his bike again and left the Магазин leaving Jax in a облако of dust.

People down every turn
Pain inside their hearts
A girl with scars on her wrists
A boy with a нож in his chest
She hides in the dark
Wondering when the pain with end
He stands up to fight in defense
Only to get knocked back down again
She fights with her parents
They don't wanna support the child
She's left to fend for herself in the cold
Alone with the child
Do we see what we are doing when we say the things we say?
Do we see who we are hurting with the actions that we're taking?
What we need
Are broken families reconciled
We need hearts to mend, scars to heal and battles to end
We. Need. Love
To stand up for the broken
We. Need. Hope
To give a hand to the hopeless
We need the world to care.
What are we doing with the words we are saying?
Who are we changing
And what effects are they having?
Lets be the change.
