I can't get behind Korrasami at all. It was way too rushed and forced. They literally could have given two shits about each other until the third book, and then suddenly Asami has this adoration for Korra, turning Asami's character into this doting friend, all while Korra does nothing for Asami in return. It's so one-sided, it hurts. And then in Book 4, their moments are minuscule, and do not scream "more than platonic/we're so in love." And then in the last thirty seconds of the series, Korra finally cares about something "Asami related" and their relationship is just tacked on like an afterthought. They deserved better moments and representation..... especially being the endgame couple.
Bryke was just lazy with Korrasami and it really shows. It's sad too that they cared so little about Asami's character. They turned her character into this dull and bland character that could not do anything in her own arc unless it somehow involved Korra's plots; and it's horrible that they let her character resort into her same old title of love interest in the end. God forbid Asami have a story line that shaped her character and didn't depend on Asami doing something for Korra (being a chauffeur, servant, handmaiden, and cheerleader to Korra). And a relationship is definitely what Asami needed after losing her father; nothing mends loss and helps the mourning process like getting into a random relationship with your friend.
And the real ticker for me is that they forced Korra into a relationship despite her just going through a huge ass ordeal....... was the whole point of her journey to end up with someone? It just defeated the purpose of the power she found in herself.... by herself.
And then they go on a vacation when both girls have so much work to do to fix everything. Korra is a damn figure head who just stopped a major problem, whilst creating a new spirit portal and destroying a massive city that was home to a large population. And Asami is a CEO of a major company that she now has to rebuild (again...don't you love that), and she is responsible for rebuilding the city just like she did the first time.
Just overall, a bad ending that made the girls so out of character and forced them into this relationship with little buildup just so Bryke could get praise for the minuscule "representation" they bothered to give the LGBTQ community.
