Avenged Sevenfold unveil behind the scenes video of ‘The Stage’

Avenged Sevenfold have unveiled a behind-the-scenes video for the making of their huge new video for ‘The Stage’. See it first on NME below.

The opening and title track from their massive new album of the same name, ‘The Stage’ takes the band’s arena-destroying odyssey of metal to ever-broader horizons. The accompanying video is fittingly adventurous.

“When we were trying to come up with a concept for our music video for ‘The Stage’, we basically run through a lot of different ideas and ultimately I sat and studied the lyrics that Matt had written – and they really resonated with me,” says guitarist Zacky Vengeance. “You know – a Shakespearean way of looking at our lives and where we fit in on this planet and where this planet fits into this universe. Just on a grand scale, what we’re doing with our time here and who’s watching us and who’s lives are we effecting.”

He continues: “Lyrically the song is so strong, and I wanted to do something visually astounding to really do it justice.”
