Chandler Riggs rose to fame for his role as Carl Grimes on the hit AMC series "The Walking Dead." And if you\'re a huge fan of the horror show, then you have definitely seen Carl grow up from a shy kid into a hardened teenage survivor of the zombie apocalypse. But do you know Riggs as much as the character he plays? Below are 10 interesting facts that you probably didn\'t know about 16-year-old actor:

1. "The Walking Dead" is not his first zombie project.

Before he was cast as Carl, Riggs played Egon in the 2006 comedy-horror film "Jesus H. Zombie." And as seen in the video below, it seems that Egon doesn\'t survive the apocalypse long enough.

As "The Walking Dead" fans know, a "death dinner" is held every time a character from the show is killed off. Unfortunately for Riggs, as much as he wanted to say goodbye to his co-stars leaving the series, he couldn\'t just attend every single "death dinner."

"Usually they have the death dinners ... at bars, so I can\'t go! I don\'t think [I\'ve been to any]," Riggs, previously told AMC. Riggs was only 10 when he joined the show.

"I have known Andrew Lincoln [Rick Grimes] for five years now, and the rest of the cast not as long, so I am definitely closest to Andy," Riggs said of his onscreen dad in an interview with Cryptic Rock last year.

Though Lincoln wasn\'t on social media, Riggs shared a touching Instagram post last year, greeting the British actor on his 41

Riggs is into video games. In fact, he used to have a YouTube channel called The Orange Trampoline featuring him and his friends playing together.

"I do a lot of video games -- I have a YouTube channel where I record me playing video games with my friends and post it. That\'s a hobby I have and a lot of what I do in my off time," he previously told AMC. Though the channel has since been deleted it, one can still easily find videos of him playing Minecraft or Grand Theft Auto on YouTube.

When asked by AMC what would he miss the most if there really was a zombie apocalypse, he said, "Definitely, video games. I love video games."

Riggs took to social media this past June to reveal that he tried out for the role of the teenage Peter Parker that was ultimately given to Tom Holland.

"Good luck to whoever lands the spiderman role -- it would\'ve been awesome for me!" he wrote on Twitter and Facebook.

When asked by a fan if he would still be able to play Carl if he had gotten the web slinger role, he wrote, "I think they could make it work."

"I love horror films. My favorite is \'The Mist,\'" he revealed to Media Mikes in 2010. "It was so cool seeing Laurie [Holden], Jeffery [Demunn], Juan [Gabriel Pareja] and the amazing job that Frank [Darabont] did in directing that movie. Especially the creepy way that he ended it!"

Holden, Demunn and Pareja are all "The Walking Dead" alums. Darabont, on the other hand, is the original showrunner of the series.

"\'Phineas & Ferb\' [is one of my favorite TV shows], although I know that\'s kind of childish," Riggs revealed to AMC.

Apparently, this was the reason he was so excited when he learned that Vincent Martella -- the actor voicing Phineas -- was cast as Patrick in the season 4 of "The Walking Dead."

"I am such a huge \'Phineas & Ferb\' fan, so being in scenes with Vincent was really cool," Riggs told Daily Dead last year.

Riggs has been dating fellow actress Hana Hayes, whom he\'s known since January of last year. They both starred in the 2014 horror film "Mercy." Check out some of their photos below.

Riggs was reportedly homeschooled since he was in sixth grade. But since February 2013, he has been enrolled in public school again. In May last year, he finished ninth grade at Etowah High School in Woodstock, Ga.

Though he goes in a regular high school, he said during an interview with WGN-TV this past February that he\'s not the "king of high school." "My friends, they\'re there to treat me like trash to keep me level-headed," he said.

"I hope to go to college for acting; go to UCLA or NYU or Juilliard and then continue acting," he revealed to Cryptic Rock.
