Lately, I think some of the Twihaters from the CAT spot have gone a little too harsh with the hateful Комментарии about Twilight and some of its fans. I've been told from the beginning that the CAT spot is not a hater spot and I know it was intended to be a spot for people to discuss and give opinions about Twilight.

I think it's rather rude to leave nasty Комментарии at Twipro contents. I don't think it's wrong for a Twifan to post something related to Twilight, whether they are images, videos, links, etc. After all, this spot is for Twifans, Twihaters and Twineutrals alike! And there's no need to give a low rating for a Twipro content. I understand if one gives a Twipro content a low rating because it is miscategorized/inappropriate или its lack of keywords. But giving a Twipro content a low rating because Ты personally dislike/hate Twilight is rather mean. Leaving a hateful Комментарий towards the Twifan who Опубликовано the Twipro contents here is even worse.

Some of the contents at the CAT spot also have been a little too harsh lately. I find most of it really amusing but some of it are a little too harsh, especially some of those from the TwilightSucks website. Please медведь in mind that not all the members here are Twihaters.

I think that there's no need to hate someone just because he/she likes Twilight. 'To each, his/her own.' Please do not assume that Twifans are mindless, uneducated people, who just go about screaming "EDWARD CuLLen IssSSS Aaa HOOOTTTtttty!11!!!" или that we have no life. There are Twifans out there to who have mixed feelings about Twilight too. We know that Twilight has its flaws but each of us have a personal reason for liking Twilight. So, please do not assume that we like Twilight just because Twilight is the 'in' thing или because Jacob/Edward is hot. Plus, don't forget that we, Twifans have feelings too.

However, it's not wrong for anyone to Показать their dislike for Twilight. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Respect is to be earned and I'm sure most will find it hard too respect one who uses foul/curse words to describe their hate for their dislikes. I've already seen a few cases[thankfully, very, very few cases] where someone cusses about Twilight, which I think is totally unnecessary. If Ты want to blurt out/express your negative feelings on Twilight, there's no need for the usage of foul language. Just give a polite and truthful Комментарий или just use sarcasm. I fact, I think sarcasm is better than cussing.

So, this is my Совет to Twifans who are also members of the CAT spot, who are unhappy with some of the CAT contents. If Ты come across any really nasty Комментарии или contents about Twilight или about you, just ignore или laugh them off. Like what Dearheart mentioned, don't take things too personally. Don't let them bother you. If Ты want to give a comment/reply, give a respectful или a witty one, as long as it's mature.

Mermaid-Tail I agree that there are times people need to stop and remember the spirit of this site. I think it's mainly newer members. People only just discovering the CAT spot and thinking 'Finally! A place to rant about Twilight! Yaaay" I really hope nobody leaves over it, because I hope they realise that it's not the feel of the whole spot, and that when new members come with that attitude they will be given two options 'use the spot in the spirit it's intended or don't use it at all'. It really isn't the spot losing it's way, it's the fact that it needs to be a group effort to integrate new members, and quitting on the spot wont help because if you stay you'll get to see those new members being given the be nice or be gone rules. It's the internet, and sadly that brings out the mean in some people, also some people just burst with relief at a place they wont get lynched for disliking Twilight, but I don't think the need to make sure new members get the message is a need to quit on the spot. If any Twilight fan ever sees any content they feel has crossed the line I truly do urge you to bring it to the attention of other members, because we are not ok with it. If you feel it's someone who just got too heated or forgot themselves maybe a polite reminder to be nice, but if it's true rudeness, seriously, the other members of the spot (yes, even the antis like me) are in no way ok with pros feeling attacked or insulted. I'm an anti and I did a whole article about why I think it's great we have pro members, so I hope nobody gets the impression the rude ones speak for all of us, because they really don't.

Asvini I agree I hope people don't think any rudeness represents the feelings of all the antis. I'm an anti and I love hearing our pros' points of view. The spot would be dull and pointless without having both pros and antis, and I really hope we don't lose pro members. If anything we need more pro members. That would help both to make it harder for pros to feel outnumbered/left out and also it would be easier for new members to see a mix and know right off the bat that this is not a hate spot :)

rachaelwsz Thanks for those lovely comments on my article. :) I've stayed here long enough to know that the CAT spot was never intended to be a hate spot. I know that some of the rather mean comments from Twihaters are inevitable. This is the Internet after all. I really do hope more Twifans will join the CAT spot. I'm guessing about 75% of the CAT members here are antis. It'll be nice to have more Twifans. I sincerely hope that we won't lose anymore Twifans here...

I mean it all in good humor, not in mean-spiritedness. And I use the CAT to vent about Twilight when something related to it gets on my nerves. I have no troubles with Twilight fans in the slightest, only the stereotypical Twihards/Twitards. And I don't judge what people are until I hear what they have to say. Even then, I may just ignore it. But I don't give a damn if people like it! I myself don't like it, but I love talking to people who like it who aren't insane. OceanCoast Great article. I'm an avid "anti" but I don't consider myself a "hater" for the reasons I consider haters to be like you described; rude, crass, and just plain offensive. I too have noticed the influx of the more aggressive users and I'm assuming they are arriving just to vent their frustration without reading the community guidelines that keep this spot peaceful (because lets face it this spot could easily become a war zone without proper guidelines).

MissDK I think that the overrating of the whole Twilght franchise by the media and by a lot of fans has created a lot of haters. I, as a VERY big anti-Twilight person love to critisize Twilight without being disrespectful. And I agree about backing down from offensive language to Twilight fans. My best friend is a Twilight fan and that's no problem for us because we manage to be respectful to one another.

Well, I'm a Twilight fan, but I like to be critical of the series anyways. But recently, I discovered that a lot of the Twi-hater fanbase (or hatebase?) has been consisted of mostly people who have only seen the movies, and I instantly saw how there were so many Twi-haters.

Let me just start off by saying that the movie sucks a**, and I'm being NICE! How Twilight could have been Great.

I don't like Twilight. I find the characters shallow; the plot boring and cliche; and the hidden messages frightening. But in the hands of another Автор - someone who wouldn't let their religious upbringing, their misogynistic views, and their twisted romantic ideals colour the story - it could have been really fantastic.

First off, the grammar would have to be fixed. The purple prose minimised and the в общем и целом, общая Письмо polished up.

Next the characters would have to be made realistic, their actions have an effect on the plot, and their history an effect on them.

Take Rosalie, for example. If Rosalie's...

Lauren: A Mini-Rant

Lauren, Lauren, Lauren, Lauren. She's the blond girl in twilight. The one tricked by a modeling scam, the one that hates Bella. We first meet Lauren in the cafeteria, I believe. 1. Turning into bats

She could have explained it as bats are attracted to vampires, but she choose not to adress it at all.

It could have been explained as a reaction to the moons phases.

I'm so glad to have found a spot that isn't full of people gushing over how hot Robert Pattinson is. Since the movie came out, the original idea of the series has deteriorated.

I used to feel proud to call myself a 'Twilight' fan. I first read it in 2005, and to be quite honest I loved how nobody had read it, it seemed really special. So called 'Fans' who now go around using the word 'Twilighter' just because they have seen the film have ruined it for everyone else.

Fair enough, it's nobodies fault it has been made into an overated hyped movie, but if they really understood what it meant before...

I dislike the books, but after seeing image after image labeled "Twilight sucks", as well as Комментарий after Комментарий with the words, I'm beginning to see why we can be accused of being "haters."

"Sucks" is not a swear word. To say something sucks is not going to send Ты to hell. But it is derogatory, and immature, and does not lead to any real discussion. Well, unless some mature Twilighter comes along and say, "I see that Ты think Twlight sucks. Why?" That might spark discussion.
