Well he's not my favorite, but I don't think he's that bad. People like what they like. Plus more people call him a womanizer than anything really complimentary.

I'm somewhere in between these options. I like him, he's funny, and he is attractive. There are better princes imo that don't get as much recognition, so I'll pick this. I could see how he could be seen as overrated

I think it's kind of like, on every "Favorable" prince poll, which prince is at the top? Naveen!!!

On every "NON-favorable" prince poll, who is at the top? Eric and Prince Charming. REGULARLY. Like, Eric and Charming are "the losers" or something.

Even Flynn, who has the most in common with Naveen-- character-wise--- doesn't get the same kind of "adoration" that Naveen gets on here.

I'm fine with people liking Naveen and finding him handsome for looks alone. ( I think he looks sleazy, myself). But he is a player/ womanizer. And I do think people consciously pick "looks" over "good character" all of the time. Naveen looks great on the outside, maybe, but his character is pretty bad. And Eric and Prince Charming look "bland" on the exterior, but are beautiful on the inside.

I guess it does show that more people need to re-watch Beauty and the Beast. Not for entertainment value, per se, but for the moral lesson behind it. A "hot" exterior does not necessarily equate to a "great" guy.

What's with the options?.. So biased.

I don't think he's overrated (well, tbh I don't really come on here much anymore so I can't say for certain), but he's not my favourite Prince, either. Besides, people can dislike him yet think he's rated just fine so these answers don't make sense.

Also I like him because he entertains me as a character. I don't care if he's "hot" or a "jerk". He makes me laugh. It's as simple as that.

^ Okay. I can respect that people like him for the "humor" value alone. Not his looks, not his character--- just his humor. But I guess, lots of princes have humor. Phillip has a sense of humor. So does Aladdin and John Smith. And Flynn, undoubtedly. So "humor" is more commonplace amongst the princes...that I could see. It's kind of more of a "universal trait" among the princes.

And what I said about Beauty and the Beast being a moral lesson on "looks vs. character" does ring true. Anyone at all on here could say that is the case. It doesn't make me superior for pointing that out, does it? That is also a FACT, right?

He's toward the bottom of my list, I don't think he's overrated on Fanpop.

^^ Yes BatB does teach a good lesson in that appearances don't matter, but you are not simply "stating the truth", you are making assumptions based on what you THINK about Naveen fans. Most Naveen fans I have come across know he's not an angel, we're aware he can be a jerk at times. We don't think he's perfect. (I can't speak for all of course). I do think you're trying to take the moral high ground/act superior by suggesting that Naveen fans should watch BatB again. I feel like you're belittling our opinion of the character to suit your own. And the poll options are clearly biased - why not a simple "yes" or "no"? I have nothing to choose because I don't agree with either.

In regards to the humour of the other Princes, I don't really see your point. A lot of characters have humour - Yzma, Kronk, Mushu, Hades, Minions (Despicable Me). That's irrelevant. Every character is different and every person has a different sense of humour. I'm not particularly entertained by Aladdin, for example. We like/dislike characters for different reasons.

He's overrated everywhere!

Disclaimer: When something happens over and over again, I just recognize the pattern. It's how my brain works. There are so many other princes who are just as "interesting" as Naveen, in my opinion. Hence, my poll is asking you, if you think some other prince ( we have 12 now), is more attractive/has better character/ is more funny/ has it more together, than Naveen does? Do you think Naveen is overrated for being found "the most__ ___" in every poll featuring all of the princes? Do you think any other princes deserve attention?

He's not my favorite but he's probably the least popular Prince after John Smith. If we weren't counting Charming and Prince. There was a time he was hyped but that was when PatF just came out and people were fawning over his looks.

@wavesurf: But in that recent "favorite Prince poll" he only has one vote. He's only 4th in the most attractive one too. That doesn't seem overrated to me; not especially so, at least. I don't come on here much anymore so from what you were saying I expected to see him winning both polls by landslides or something.

Regardless, I feel like you're saying people shouldn't like him because he's a 'jerk' but surely that would mean people can't like any of the villains? Hades is one of my favourite Disney characters but he's clearly not a good person (or God in this case). I think he's a great character, is all.

@Mongoose: Well, I am sorry you think I am doing something wrong for thinking people should occasionally re-watch Beauty and the Beast for its moral value, and that "I'm acting" superior for saying so. There wasn't anything in my statement saying it was wrong to like Naveen, and that TPATF fans should re-watch B & the B. I just said-- sometimes, it would be beneficial to recall that "looks and a funny exterior" aren't everything. Strength of character matters more, especially since the exterior on most people ages into wrinkles very quickly.

^^^Hades is fun, and I like him for his humor. Would I call him a wonderful person? Nope. I love Ursula as a villain, too. Do I go around saying she is a "a good" character? Nope. You can like any character for the role the character plays. But my poll was about "just how often the praise was heaped on a single prince." And just how often, Naveen was "that prince."

The recent two polls on princes were: which prince is most overrated in the handsome category? That was predictable. The answer was Eric, as usual--- not Naveen who usually WINS in the most handsome category all of the time. If the poll asks who is your favorite prince, then there is more diversity in the answer choices. I saw Eric and Shang and Phillip and Aladdin and Flynn rating high on that list. More diversity there. So my poll is trying to zero in on some of this discrepancy.

^ But to say someone is a "good" character doesn't mean we think they're a good person. A well-written character is a good character, to me anyway.

Naveen winning attractive polls isn't a testament to his character though. Someone could LOATHE him but still admit he's handsome or attractive and vote for him in that poll. It may mean he's overrated in looks, but not as a character in that aspect. Him barely getting a single vote in a "favourite" poll doesn't tell me he's overrated.

^Oh? So you do see the discrepancy, here? Yes. Naveen barely wins in the "favorite" poll, but he dominates in all of the most handsome, the most funny, the most etc., polls? There are many more polls than "favorite prince polls." Interesting....

^^ There's nothing weird about that, though. I find Naveen the most handsome Prince but I wouldn't vote for him in a "favourite" poll. Maybe that might mean he's overrated (not in my opinion) in certain aspects of his personality, but surely it just means people are unbiased and don't just choose their favourite for everything. Unless I'm misunderstanding.

He's near the top of my list, but I don't see him getting all that much attention on Fanpop. Yes, he's considered one of the most attractive here, but I think there's a variety of opinions on him as a character.

I agree with Mongoose09 about the answers being kind of biased, and I don't really think Naveen is overrated on Fanpop. He's kind of a basebreaker, since a fairly equal amount of people either love him or hate him, and then there are those who are neutral to him. I personally really like his character, but it's because of his humor combined with his good character development. I'm a sucker for character development, it's part of why I like Merida, Tiana and Beast so much.

Mongoose09 While I do admit these options are pretty biased, I don't think that Naveen should be compared to the villains. I mean, the villains are supposed to be evil, bad role models, and do horrible things. Naveen is a Disney Princess and therefore is meant to be taken more seriously as a role model, which even from a third party standpoint in my opinion, is a very bad role model. I mean, he was abusive towards Lawrence, lies, blames Tiana for his mistakes, manipulated Louis, acts like a jerk, mocks those who actually act responsible and know life isn't all about fun and games, is spoiled and selfish, arrogant, looks down on others, is a womanizer, and still flirts with several women when he knows he's trying to get married to Lottie (marrying someone for their money, add that to it). I'd be able to overlook it if his development was done well but it really wasn't. I mean, with someone like Kuzco, who I do find annoying but I still LOVE, he's not meant to be taken seriously and therefore I can enjoy him more, along with his great character development. Yes, these options are biased, there's no denying that, but using the excuse that people love villains for being jerks, so Naveen shouldn't get hate for being a jerk, is not a very strong argument.

^ When did I say "Naveen shouldn't get hate for being a jerk"? I never said that. I fully understand why people dislike like him and they're completely justified in their reasons. All I was saying was that JUST because he's a 'jerk' it doesn't mean everyone should be expected to automatically dislike him because of it, and that it doesn't mean they're wrong or misguided if they like him. People like characters for different reasons.

Also I agree with sarchasm - I think Naveen develops as the movie progresses, I don't think the guy at the end of the movie is the same as the guy at the beginning. I think he learns from his mistakes and betters as a person - something which doesn't happen with the main villains - even if it is presented quickly.

Tbh, unless people are spending some inordinate amount of time talking about how awesome he is, which they aren't, I don't see how he's overrated here.

And not to be mean, but this comes off as one of the many polls that are just a guise for passive-aggressive venting about a character they don't like.

Personally, while i don't condone Naveen's womanizing and laziness... those are character flaws and it's refreshing to see a Disney Prince who has them. And it's way more realistic. You're more likely to know a Naveen or a Kristoff than you are some idealized and objectified prince like Eric who is basically female wish fulfillment.

And most of the polls that Naveen wins have zero to do with his character. Deep down, Naveen shows that he's actually a really good guy anyway.

What UN said. He isn't overrated, though he usually wins with looks polls. everyone calls out his laziness, womanizing, and selfish behavior.

^ Yes, but they excuse his negative traits because "he's so funny." And, out side of Fanpop, it's because he's good looking or hot.

@UnholyNoise I don't really meet a lot of guys like Kristoff or Naveen and the rare time I do, they annoy the hell out of me. I meet guys more like Aladdin or Flynn.
