What has happened to fanpop?

B) I know you're frustrated, and Fanpop has changed a lot in the years I've used the site, BUT:

1) "Cheating," или asking people to vote for Ты in picks или rate your content, is not illegal Fanpop behavior, it's just really, really frowned upon. It is NOT a ban-able offense. The moderators are not cheating police. They're here to make sure Fanpop stays безопасно, сейф and spam-free. They ban trolls, spammers, and general ne'er-do-wells. They message/warn smaller transgressors. But "cheating," as Ты define it, is not breaking the ToS, so Fanpop has no grounds on which to discipline them.

2)I hate this too. Seriously, I do, and if Ты ever need someone to play with your troll and give Ты a good show, Ты just call me. I've learned to have fun with it. But this is a great time to point out that going into someone else's spot just to trash the content is called trolling and should be reported. Unlike "cheating," trolling is against the ToS, and the moderators will take care of it for you.

3) Hate, in general, is not cool, so... I guess I agree with Ты there. Though this complaint is very non-specific. Ты could say that about any website on the net, или any school playground in the country. That's just people, especially kids, who just behave immaturely and cruelly sometimes. But, again, people hurting other people's feelings (which includes name-calling and other "hateful" activity) should be reported. And, if Ты want, contact me. I am the unofficial bouncer of Fanpop.

4) The medal system has always been a mystery, and in a way, that's where some of its charm comes from. The Fanpop Four implemented the new ratings system in an attempt to help the medal issues people have, или at least, that's how I've come to understand it. Just keep contributing for the fun of it. I'm not saying you're a medal whore, but try not to think about the Медали so much. If Ты find good content, add it. If Ты find bad content, add it, but don't expect it to be well-liked. Most of all, credit and key-word - that's always awesome, and Ты will have a medal in my book JUST for doing that.

C) People don't get away with everything. A while ago, a very-widely respected, loved, hated and feared user was banned. For a long time, this user's behavior was overlooked because the user was a вверх contributor, and had as many Друзья as enemies, but eventually the user's behavior was too obscene to overlook, and the user was banned. Keep reporting. Keep complaining. They'll hear you.

D) Ты will never, ever get kicked off of Fanpop for speaking your piece, no matter what it is... Well, there are certain limitations, of course. No hate speeches, and say it in an appropriate way, and Ты ought to be just fine.

Well many of your points I agree with and so to answer/discuss your question/statement... :)
1. Well yeah people cheat but yes as Cinders сказал(-а) it isn't necessarily illegal on Fanpop (sadly) so I think the best Ты can do about it is to let it go and look on the bright side! The majority of people don't cheat and all and Ты should just stay the way Ты are and ignore the bad ppl who cheat!!! That way you'll be the еще mature one...and Ты can't do much with those who insist on cheating... :)

2. Yeah I agree those people are fairly childish, and once again I think Ты should try and tolerate them или maybe send them a message nicely and suggest them not to do so? Also (in the most of the cases I've seen) the other people tell them they are wrong to do that through Комментарии and all so Ты aren't alone in being alone! With a lot of people against them, those childish people will eventually back off...

3. Yes this point is rlyyyyy annoying for meee!!!! >.< I think everyone has the right to have their opinions!!!!! To those stupid people, the best Ты can do is to correct them and ignore, but I think in some serious cases Ты can Сообщить it to Fanpop (i'm not all that clear with the rules and all but it's worth a try)

4. This is one of the things that annoy me but at the same time I don't know if I should be annoyed. I'm not rly sure what it actually takes to get a medal but supposedly gradually in time if you've contributed a lot AND the Фаны like it (ratings and all), then Ты get one. But yes I think a lot of people who deserve it haven't got one!!!!!!!! Hopefully Fanpop will realise their problems and fix them :S

I think the bad people deserve the punishment and I guess we also have to think for the moderators. After all there are a LOT of ppl on Fanpop and to deal with all the small and big problems is quite a big effort too...but I definitely support your points as to why Fanpop can be irritating! But I also wanted to say that it's not necessarily all fanpop's fault, but the selfish ppl on fanpop...which sadly there will always be :(

I agree with you. People shouldn't be rude and everything should be fun and enjoyable. But what Вопрос are Ты asking?
Are Ты asking why do they do this?
Are Ты asking how do they do this?
или are Ты saying that they shouldn't do this.
If it's number 3, this should be an article, not a question.

I don't think anyone could do any better of answering this Вопрос than Cinders did.

And anyways, my thumb hurts too badly to actually type any resolutions, so listen to Cinders.

There may be problems here in FanPop, but just typing up a silly rant isn't necessarily doing anyone any good. Try actually doing something about it.
