How many of my 'favorites' can that section hold in my profile?

I couldn't find an answer to this anywhere on the site SO maybe only the F4 can accurately answer your query,Susie. This was the only infor I found in relation to the "my favourites" feature, Опубликовано by the F4 under 'releases':

Whoa, I can’t believe it’s been two weeks since we’ve Опубликовано to the blog. But don’t worry, we haven’t gone anywhere! We’ve had our heads down crunching on some cool new features that Ты all have been requesting. Honestly, we Любовь hearing from our users, it’s what inspires us to get up each morning and make the site better and better. Our goal is to make the site easier to use but not give up any functionality along the way. It’s a tough job, but we’re committed to making Fanpop your Избранное site to visit each day.

When we first designed the site, we were focused on keeping things really simple and uncluttered. We debated whether или not we need both ratings and bookmarks (saving your Избранное links). We decided to streamline things and make it so that whenever Ты rated a link, it would also save the link for you. We realized over time that a lot of people weren’t catching on to this feature since it was not obvious that rating would do anything other than rate. People are familiar with saving bookmarks and избранное in their browser and on other bookmarking sites, so we decided to add that functionality. Sometimes Ты don’t want to necessarily save all the Ссылки you’ve rated, just the best ones. Now Ты can click on the little green save button on a link and it will be stored away nicely in a Список of your Избранное Ссылки across the site! And don’t worry, Ты can still get to all your ratings too!

The избранное Список shows five of your избранное "on top" (apparently picked at Болталка from your list), but then Ты can click "more favorites" to get a multi-page view of your favorites, much as any other Список related to an user's Профиль (10 items at a time, can jump to a particular page of results или navigate to the "Previous" или "Next" pages). I know this probably isn't what's happened for you, but I have to include it for thoroughness: if Ты have еще than 5 favorites, it may be that the избранное Ты expect to see at the вверх of your Список are not listed there. As I said, the criteria for listing which of your избранное in the default five in your Профиль isn't clear...it's not the most Последнее ones Ты added, nor are they listed alphabetically. Every time Ты save a piece of content to your favorites, that Список of which five is displayed is re-generated. So if you're just not seeing some particular избранное in the default five listed on your profile, it may be that they're still in the full list.

Aside from that, I haven't seen nor heard of anyone losing Ссылки to their "favorited" content unless that content is removed from the site. Have Ты checked to see if the content still exists on the site? If it's still on the site but isn't in your full Список of favorites, then it's likely a bug and should be reported.
