Though he\'s gone on to Super Bowl greatness, the New England Patriots quarterback was actually drafted by the Montreal Expos on June 2, 1995. To celebrate the 21st anniversary of him being drafted into the majors, Brady, 38, shared a fake rookie card, imagining what it would have been like had he decide to accept the offer to play baseball.
"21 years ago today I was fortunate to be selected by the Expos in the 1995 MLB Draft. But.....I\'m so happy I stuck with football!" he wrote on Facebook. "What do you guys think?"
In addition to playing football at Junipero Serra High School in San Mateo, Calif., Brady also played for the school\'s baseball team as a catcher. Then 17, Brady was drafted in the 18th round by the Expos, but ultimately went on to play quarterback at the University of Michigan.
In 2015, former Expos scout John Hughes spoke to MLB.com about Brady\'s baseball skills.
"I think he would have been a pro," Hughes told the website. "He had all the intangibles. He could throw, left-handed power. There is no reason to think this guy couldn\'t have been a big league catcher."
Four Super Bowl rings later, sports history took a very different course.
