Something which occurred to me while going over OUaT clips in preparation for Season 3 (can't wait!) was how fantastic the Показать has been in displaying all sorts of different relationships. This is where the tension between the people who ship different people comes from. All the most Популярное ships with Emma are very powerful, very compelling, very attractive story-lines. Going through them all:
Captain Swan: This is a classic story of Любовь redeems all. It's a very powerful thought - that your Любовь for someone can help them and maybe even fix them. The idea that Hook's feelings for Emma can inspire him to put aside a vendetta that has driven him for the past three centuries is very appealing to some people. Especially when Ты consider that his quest was driven by his very powerful Любовь for another woman. If he puts aside his desire for revenge for you, then he's choosing you. He's putting Ты and your happiness above his Назад girlfriend who he was exceptionally devoted to. It means he loves Ты the most and, like I сказал(-а) before, that's a very powerful thought. Lastly there's the concept that a man can break down your walls; that with him there's no need to worry about being hurt или abandoned; that he can see how badly you've been hurt and how broken Ты are when no-one else can. When people ship Captain Swan, this is what they see.
SwanFire: I'm not a SwanFire shipper so it's еще difficult for me to see the nuances to their relationship but the story-line is not without a very attractive message. What I'd imagine draws people to the idea of SwanFire is the long gap between them meeting. That after ten years being apart, and after one of them supposedly moving on, they can still have feelings for each other. The notion that Ты can affect someone so deeply that even after ten years they still think of you. That even when they're with another they can't quash their feelings for you. When people ship SwanFire this is what appeals to them.
Swan Queen: лебедь Queen is easy, there's the obvious ЛГБТ reason behind it, but there's also the fact that on the surface they can't stand one another. Regina and Emma were at loggerheads for most of the Показать so far, the idea that they're in Любовь is, again, very attractive. To think that even if Ты fight and Ты scream at one another, if you're in Любовь you'll always pull through. Regina has done some horrific things and to think that despite all the terrible things someone can still Любовь her is powerful. It's a case of "there is nothing Ты can do to stop me loving you" and "no matter how terrible the things Ты do Ты are always worthy in my eyes of Любовь and forgiveness". This is why people ship лебедь Queen.
So Ты see, no matter how much Ты get behind one ship there's always going to be someone who doesn't see it или doesn't find it attractive или doesn't see the chemistry. Depending on what you, personally, find attractive you're going to find different ships appealing. So lastly, please don't say to someone that they're wrong или their ship doesn't have chemistry because Ты are essentially telling them that their personal preferences/ experiences/ whatever are not real. They may not be real for Ты but they are for them. So that's not cool.
