Rachel quite literally swore of any relationship whatsoever and if she were to go against something she LITERALLY wanted to do so much she dedicated her life to it she would be an incredibly poor character. Everyone hates Drew and who is Miranda Gardner? Calypso is the only logical rival for Annabeth because she is Percy's first love and she most definitely reciprocated. She is well thought out in that while she is forced into a damsel in distress role she is able to take it in stride, she can find the little things to be happy for and all the while still keep the hope that someday she will be released from her imprisonment. The only complaint I have is that she never really FOUGHT for Percy, she loved him and let him go almost to easily. She was sad about it but she just doesn't seem to have courage to really sand up and say she wants something or someone and that's my only complaint about her.
