If it's a far away and small enough picture I think it's alright. None large enough for anyone to make out real features though. And don't put any location information или your full name. There's allot of creepy people out there!

Honestly, I don't think it's a good idea posting your picture as your icon. There's thieves on here that would go on your Профиль and steal your pic(s)(obviously because he/she has nothing better to do) and would do stuff to them. This incident happened in another club and a lot of people regretted putting their picture up.
Some people do- and I think it's alright if Ты don't post your full name. или Ты can post your full name without a pic of you. I don't post my pictures cos I don't want ppl from school или my parents just looking through my Профиль and going 'OOO she has a crush on HIM. OOO she hates HIM. OOO she is a Фан of bla bla bla.'
I don't think there is a safety issue. It is certainly possible that someone could use your image for something Ты wouldn't approve of (I'll leave it at that), but I feel it is unlikely in this setting.
However, I do agree that Fanpop isn't a place for posting pictures of yourself like Facebook или Myspace. But that's just my opinion.

Plus, Ты have to Загрузить your user Иконка as any other pictures, and people can copy the Ссылка of that picture as well, so it's definitely not safe.
There are millions of people who have Опубликовано their pictures online without any negative effects. Ты are removing a lot of anonymity, so Ты have to be a lot еще responsible with your actions. For example if Ты have a blog and post your picture on it, Ты would want to minimize controversy.
Basically, it's безопасно, сейф but it does open doors if someone is really trying to find you.
There's lots of Crazy Lunatics in the world, I wouldn't put my face on the Internet..Just in case some Psycho from a mental asylum got loose and saw Ты and started doing crazy sh!t like stalking Ты или eating your garbage.. Ya never know in this world..!!
